So my GF got an alignment and new tires yesterday (after a year of me telling her to do so) and she said the shop showed her the alignment specs on the computer (I always ask for a print out) and the pass rear tire was still in the red, meaning out of spec. They told her that's a factory setup to have the rear tire toed out so the car will drift to the right away from on coming traffic. I called BS and red means it's out of spec and the toe should be equal on all 4 tires, or a little bit of tow in in the front is a usual factory spec IIRC, but not ONE tire toed out like that. We debated for about 20 mins until I gave up. haha

What do you guys think? Am I crazy or is that shop full of s***?

Shop is full of s***, and probably just doesn't want to deal with rusted adjustment bolts.

Good grief thats bad. They probably just want her to come in and replace the tire with the toe issue every year and dont want to adjust so they can make some easy $

Wow, I do not understand that. We form these relationships to help our friends and family to avoid shops like that, where they try and take advantage of people. It is her moeny and of she wants to throw it away, it is her choice, but it stands to reason that atleast one of us knows what we're talking about.....
