The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

You could do it yourself for half of that

I did think about doing it all myself but quickly came back to reality. There is no way in hell I could take down the tree (too high), and I don't have the right equipment. I could rent an excavator and do the sewer line. The problem is, if I screw it up I would have to call someone to come and fix it and be out the money for the rental and the materials and pay to have it done right. I would much rather pay to have it done right the first time and not piss away money I don't have.

Some times home ownership blows! We have a pine tree that is growing close to our sewer line and is causing problems. So the tree has got to be removed ($150). Then our sewer line has to be replaced because the tree roots have pushed up on the pipe ($1500).

Damn, that's a good price for tree removal. I had to get one done for a similar reason (on the upside: tons of firewood :D), and the cheapest I found was $400 in the ATL area. I'd have GLADLY paid $150 instead lol

Plus, do you really want to play around with a nasty sewer line? (lol2)

Didn't he only want like $9k for it?

I believe it was 10k prized for a friend

I would be curious to see what he wants for it and what is all done to it.

Too much to list, engine is heavily modded (no forged internals though), Koni yellows, nice wheels. Properly tuned it could turn out 400, it runs but after it warms up it stutters and is basically un-driveable. Many things have been changed related to the codes it throws but no luck. I think its a gremlin with a sensor + ECU and a standalone would help, wish I had the money to buy it and try that.

I might be getting a truck in a week or two. Nothing special just a beater for $400 from Amber's Grandpa. Something to drive if the MSP is more than just a drain plug and some oil (which i'm sure it is)

Now you can go into the slammed thread and brag about snapping your oil drain plug off. Just take a pic of your stock ride height on a hill in some grass. lulz

But still sucks about the MSP but good news about the cheap truck. Have you tried just filling it with oil, pulling the FI fuse and cranking it over?

If I had a better job I would definitely buy fez's car. That thing was a beast last year and would be a great family car.

If Fez is still running the stock computer wouldn't it still give codes? I'm sure that would be too easy so I'm just curious as to why it isn't running? I haz no moniez to buy it if he's selling, just curious as to why she hasn't been running? I mean, other than because Big3 has been working on it. Seems like everything they work on breaks immediately.

Stock ECU is still in, all codes point to the valve train which has been pretty much replaced by a stealership so Big 3 hasn't been the only one working on it. If I were to buy it, I'd just get a junk yard engine and put some of the stuff Fez has (not the turbo) and go from there, maybe a 'new' stock ECU as I also think the cusotm tuning he's done might have screwed with it. He's just tired and frustrated at throwing so much money at it and it still doesn't work right, plus the custom tuning he's done so far. I don't blame him.

Yeah, I don't blame him either. I understand his frustration. I would offer to help but I don't know much.

edit - quick search for an MZR on ebay and they are ~$2500. I'm so glad I have a cheap motor in the P5. If/when I blow this KL up I'll just swap in another one for ~$700 shipped to my door. (cabpatch)

lol, I would need some help pushing it to the grass.

haven't really had a chance to look at it, of course before I called the tow truck I tried to start it. It sounded like it turned over but I'm afraid that's when I did damage.

I'm in Chicago bored out of my mind... Next stop is Austin though!

I hope I can see COTA on the way into the airport. The track is basically right next to the airport.

COTA? Cars on track action?

I can't keep up with all these bloody acronyms! haha

Peaches, I like your Mini. I just got a Harbor Freight metal work bench in the music room for setting up my basses and friends guitars and will probably start building 1/24 scale models again in there. Model cars are much cheaper than R/C cars and I need to try to limit my hobbies. lulz.
