That sucks.

it does, I think I'm ready to throw in the towel on it.

for those of you that know about computers, when my computer starts it takes me to this HP "splashtop" thingy which it's always done, then in either 15 seconds if you don't touch anything or you click a box in the left hand bottom corner it takes you to windows. A screen pops up and I enter my password and I'm using windows. Now when I go to the windows system instead of having the password screen pop up I get a black screen and at the top it says: Invalid partition table

anybody have a clue what that means?

I've been vaugely thinking of picking up a new ford fiesta 5-speed for my daily beater. I am just tired of fighting to keep cars on the road just to get to work. Plus, you can't complain about the mileage or bottom line purchase price.

Maybe not, it doesn't take something that severe to corrupt the partition table.

I've been vaugely thinking of picking up a new ford fiesta 5-speed for my daily beater. I am just tired of fighting to keep cars on the road just to get to work. Plus, you can't complain about the mileage or bottom line purchase price.

Chris is doing it right, stick with a manual. I hate my automatic in the Milly. It can't decide what gear to be in and always feels like it's going to explode any second. And it's a newer trans too! I'll never buy an auto again. They're rubbish.
