The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

^^^ Still nowhere near as fun to drive as a RWD Mazda with half the power in my opinion. I did the whole moderate-hp FWD car with my Protege and while it was nice to have 225 whp for straightline fun, it sucked I couldn't apply any throttle around corners for fear of understeering off the road.

I saw the hottest women i have ever seen at my job today. she had on a semi tight black dress with a faint blue swirley design, she stood about 6'2" with 3" black heals. the dress stopped right above her knees. She was skinney but not Carrie Underwood skinny were she needs to eat a sandwich and her skin tone was a light beige color and black short hair down to the bottom of her head. No clue who she is, just thought i'd share.

Plus you can't drop the top... Hehehe.

been there and done that, i had a 91 miata, supercharged, caged and all the suspensions components to go along with it. all though it was a fun car for sure i love me speed WAY better and i also like the car i got to replace it.

tim, you should just leave your car the way it its, you can race people and if you get beat do a double or nothing and then use my car haha.

I wish I could have a second car like a turbo miata/rx7 for a fun summer car but I got no money saving for wedding and house. The MS3 is my DD all year round and still puts a little smile on my face going on the entrance ramps.

Where do you work? Nice picture you painted there even if you dont have one.

I work in a small shop and we NEVER have girl customers show up for pick ups, we ship everything via FedEx. We ship to a lot of churches and these two gorgeous girls came in today for a pick up. One was brunette and the other blonde, both early 20's, cute as a button. There's 5 of us in the shop and 4 in the office and we were ALL standing outside helping them load up there Jeep. Wowie-wow-wow. I love ladies...

And you didn't tell me this? C'mon dude, you're killing me!

Yes, apparently you are a Knight defending your local village against attacks from such beasts. (enguard)

she can attack me anytime if that's the case

There's not much more fear of losing it in the corners with a FWD then there is with a RWD other than how the handling is done. In a FWD car you enter the corner a little hard, turning in later and if you have proper power and gearing nail it. The ass will come around and you'll pull her through the curve. You push it to the edge of understeering and then pull the ass in line by pointing the front where you want to go.

As I said, I've done a 5 day course at Bondurant twice and in both cases we did the whole FWD vs RWD and the FWD cars in the hands of a capable driver were on the ass end of the instructors in the RWD car the whole time. When we as students took over, the FWD cars actually pulled way more successful laps than you might think. Real world, real people so skills varied. The real fun was watching the instructors fight it out. We're talking to the edge of the capabilities of these cars and man it really opens your eyes to the fact that a few tenths of a second isn't much of a huge difference.

The first time we had SRT-4 Neons, Cobra Mustangs and Vipers. In 2005 we did Grand Prix GXP's, CTS-V's, and ZO6's. The only reason the CTS-V beat my times was because it was pulling down 400hp vs 303hp. Otherwise, I was on his ass in the curves. I ended up buying one because the instructors actually showed me how to make the car perform. I apply the same to my MS3 and at Nelson Ledges here in Ohio, there are a number of MR2's, RX-7's that with everyday track guys like me driving that are shocked when they see me on their asses in the twistiest like I am.

+1 I am in total agreement!!!!

I need some new rear sway bar brackets. One of mine broke last summer... I would guess that I could probably get them directly from Mazda. But Mazda will probably charge like $60 bucks for the pair or something stupid, but I guess I'll give them a call here in a couple weeks.

I don't think mazda charges that much for them.

They are pretty cheap. I replaced like... 3 of them.

Local stealership just quoted me $40 each for the brackets. lol, They can go f themselves. OnlineMazdaParts.com has em for $28 at least...

Dealership also quoted me $107 ea for ignition coils, $25 for a thermostat & get this... $30 for a Millenia S PCV valve.

Good lord, every once in a while I need a reminder of why the dealership f'in sucks.

wow $40. i was thinkin they'd rip you off at 15-20.
