The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

All this bike talk recently, what's everyone riding? I have a Trek 7.2fx I bought around 5 years ago. Only rode it like, 5 times, then it sat for a few years. lol Then my neighbor got a new bike, and started riding to work here and there, so it motivated me to get mine tuned up so I could do the same. Rode to work today actually... :)

This is my 2011 BMC SR02. I've logged 1400 miles this year so far. I've made a few upgrades. I got a set of Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels and a Thudbuster seatpost.

You like things from the '70's, eh? Damn near the same color too! hahaha

LOL, not my women. Well this too use to be my Dad's and it still works perfect. I've replaced the wheels, seat and given it multiple tune-ups over the years.

Gotta stick with what works!

Mine is a Chinook Giant. It's a mountain bike/milk getter. Maybe 4 miles in the past month. Yeah.

I need a rack like that. I have a small Camel Pak that I use when I ride, doesn't fit much. lol

One more week unitl my 50 mile Pelotonia ride to help fund research for cancer. I"m just over Half way to my goal of raising $650. Remember that 100% of your donation goes directly to research and is tax deductable. Thank you in advance for your support.

Good luck Nate, my ride is this weekend. If I didn't have to work most weekends, I would have ridden Pelotonia too! Of course, if I didn't work weekends, I would hang out with my mazda family much more this summer...

I got out on mine today, it's a 98 K2 Proflex 2000. I had something start hurting in my right knee (internet diagnosis said runners' knee) two years ago, and I haven't been able to ride much since. This was maybe my first time out this year. Sucks, cus it's such a sweet bike and just gobbles up everything you throw at it.

Wes that thing must steer hella fast, it has almost no caster. I own a POS Wal-mart mountain bike I have even rode it three times for a total of 10 miles, maybe.

Me too, on non-ridden Walmart mountain bike. I rode it like 3 years ago on the bike trail while I still had my CBR and those knobby mountain bike tires were NOT like I remember from my childhood years. I was convinced I was going to eat s*** at any second. Either I was trying to go way too fast around curves, was used to having a 100+ series REAL tire under me or I don't even know. I haven't been on it since lol!

anyone know anything about Motobecane? i'm looking at getting one of their cyclocross bikes and wanted to get some opinions.

I'm not sure, all I have to compare it to is my old GT Palomar rigid. I know it was scary yesterday when I got to the top of a mound and stalled, the wheel whipped sideways and gravity started me down the other side! Fortunately I managed to get it back. I'm not sure if my tires are more grippy, or if it just has better weight balance than my friend's bike, but I was able to go down almost all of the descents with just my rear brake so I didn't have to worry as much about going over the bars. His is a hardtail as well, so maybe that makes a big difference?

Happy birthday, Larry!
