The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

I know Ed Baus, pretty well......I will talk to him. Thanks

Fantastic. I was talking to the Bryants about it last year but I just didn't bug them enough to get me in a car to do a check out ride and whatever else they do.

Let me know what you find out, both my Dad and I are definitely interested.

Pablo are you going to to the Auto Interests day on Monday as well?

Registered too.

Since you need to be registered/signed in to see the info, it's a Mid-Ohio track weekend Saturday and Sunday May 4th and 5th with the Porsche Club of 'Murica for $375 for both days.

I was on the fence about the AutoInterest day but okay since I'll already be there Saturday and Sunday, might as well do Monday too. I'm going to be exhausted... lulz

Well s***, I keep forgetting Tessa lives 45 mins from Mid-Ohio too. Haha

I will be there for all 3 days too! When will the madness end!!!!! Larry, you coming out?

I know that Marc P is going to be there on Monday, not sure about the PCA event, I will ask him later this week.

Any other of the local NE Ohio Meeps coming out?

I might make it out to act as ballast, again. I can't get my head around why it is so expensive for a track day. I look at it like this. 280 (for a 1-day event) X 100 cars (just a round number) equals 28000 bucks. Couldn't/shouldn't it be cheaper? Because as far as I know the corner workers and the instructors are all volunteers. It can't cost 28 grand for a 1-day track rental. Can it?

You have to consider the track workers, track staff, ambulance sevice and the instructors do pay, but it is discounted. since Mid-Ohio is in demand the cost is going to be higher, say that BeavRun PIR now. The organization is also trying to make money as well to hold future events at other tracks. It isn't cheap, buit if you weigh the overall cost to run track days as opposed to auto-x...it makes sense...
