The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

Yeah I didn't realize they were week days. I'm not taking time off for a trackcross either.

Weird. I would have done it on a weekend for sure. No matter. I'm sure I'll have vacation days to burn from time to time.

I need to start looking into what I'm going to do this season.

In the process of buying a miata, I wasn't very happy with how the ms3 performed last season being a high horse power Fwd car just didn't work for me.

I think the key is to get experience and learn on a lower HP car. Once you improve that driver mod, you can start increasing the power. Unfortunately with FWD, there's a point where too much HP slows you down because it will spin the tires instantly. If you compare your MS3 with mine, our mods are very similar, except you have a shitload of power and I'm slightly above stock power levels LOL. We both ran Hoosier slicks too, except I was able to put down slightly faster times. You were slowed down due to spinning your tires almost every time you stepped on the gas.

A Miata would be great to learn on with it's low HP.

Completely agree, you pissed me off something horrible. I am excited about the miata. Most of the bt stuff has sold already just waiting on money then the miata can come home. and the ms3 will be the perfect dd! very excited and a lot less stressed

There will be a lot less stress when your DD is no longer your track car. This is something that's been preventing me from doing tons of track days. Hopefully someday I get to the point where the only thing my DD does is be a DD. I can't afford to break my car and not be able to drive to work. I've also put plenty of thought into buying a beater or cheap car for a DD. However, I'm so spoiled with the MS3 that I would hate driving a slow boring car to work every day HAHA.

Yes you will, it sucks. I do have the neon for sale if you would like to try ;) I can't wait to dd the ms3 again. and the ms3 is just too expensive for me to break anyway. I had fun at Mid Ohio but it was nerve racking at the same time

As of last year there was no set process, but they were supposedly working on one. Right now it's pretty much a "who you know" thing.
