THE OFFICIAL "Traveling Mazda Flag" thread! :D

So whats the verdict is this going to continue I would hate for it to stop on a sour note IDK much about the big wigs connected to this forum but i think they would understand theres a whole lot of MAZDA LOVE here as they can see when looking through the forum. Like they said before it was one dumbass trying to be funny everyone else shouldnt be punished (sort a speak) for it, by not continuing it. Show them were better than that and that we want to show the support everyone else has for their fine automobiles. Dont boo me everyone but I used to be a honda guy but realized they were mostly fools like the one who made the drawing so I was converted to Mazda and have been here since 2001 and have never seen this kinda pride with any group so lets show them what we got and continue the flag to the end.

In now way, shape or form does the Mazdas247.com Community condone such IMMATURE, INSULTING & PATHETIC behavior.

The Traveling Mazda Flag must be cleaned, we can not let such idiotic behavior stop this wonderful effort by genuine Mazda enthusiasts.

Thread reopened & cleaned.

Talked to my maintenance guy about the marker. He said denatured alcohol or acetone should remove the offending marks. So, whoever has it, if they want to try it, go ahead. He said to test a very small area somewhere that's not noticeable and see if it bleaches out the fabric.

If that doesn't work, send it my way and I'll try some chemicals I have here at work. (I work for a printing company and the press operators get ink on their clothes all the time.)

Major props for being proactive and trying to provide a solution...(2thumbs)

Will do...I will do before and afters...going out later today to get the stuff...

Any updates?

if acetone or alcohol damages the area you can always tag it with a 247 logo or something in that spot as long as not to close to other sigs. just a thought. and its kind of frustrating being a part of eecmm and this happens. but we all need to realize there are bad apples everywhere we go. and this is fixable.

Sorry to all, from all the good apples at EECMM...

True...The "good apples" need to deal with the "bad apples" ASAP.

I think its an easy fix......

Well done! Major props for the suggestion! (2thumbs)

First off, this flag was signed by all of the teams that compete in Grand-Am, in addition to members of Mazdaspeed Motorsports. Some of you may not think this is a serious deal, but to Mazda it is. This is their logo, this is the flag that they use in commercials and advertising.

Mazda USA and Mazdaspeed Motorsports have seen the thread and they have seen the pictures of the poorly drawn penis, etc. In fact, when you have team owners like Sylvain Tremblay (SpeedSource), Jon Mirachi (Racers Edge), Tom & Glenn Long (Freedom Autosport) see things like this, it does not bode well to get them to particpate in events thrown by Mazda owners.

Secondly, I highly doubt that EEMMC will receive suppport from Mazda USA for next years event, if in fact they received any this year. Suffice to say, that this event will never see support from Mazda USA or Mazdaspeed Motorsports or its teams.

At any event or Mazda Corral we put on we have a team in place to oversee the event to make sure that things like this don't happen. We had no issues at LRP or OCC for that matter. If you asked for the flag and received it, it is that persons responsibility to oversee and make sure that stupid crap like this does not happen.

I am sure that Antoine knows about this, he will also be getting a PM from me in regards to Mazda USA and Mazdaspeed Motorsports feelings on the matter. Just an FYI for those who think this is a small matter, I had worked out a deal with all of the Mazda teams to put 24/7.com on their cars and then they see this! C'mon, this goes beyond childish. We are also partnering with Grand-Am as well, to promote each site.

Needless to say, I am glad I was not at this event, nor will I lend my support to any future event like this. Someone should apologize to Worbit, they screwed him on this deal, big time. It should be noted that dealerships have to go to their regions for approval to host events as well, in order to get money from Mazda USA, so you may not even get dealer support for your future events as well.

Well said...I hope people realize that behavior like this in situations like this is not only upsetting but unacceptable as well.

The Mazda Community is not a JOKE by any means and should certainly NOT be treated like one...Many people pour their heart & soul into the scene so that we can all enjoy it together in a mature & responsible manner.

What matters now is how we respond and move forward as a Mazda Community. Let's get the flag sorted and back on track...Mazdas247.com is here to support the Mazda Community not dwell on immature acts by incredibly immature people.

...I was converted to Mazda and have been here since 2001 and have never seen this kinda pride with any group so lets show them what we got and continue the flag to the end.

Right on man...Right on! (rockon)

Damn. it will be 2012 before it makes it to me.

Taylor...come up to the MD meet.

On a more serious note...

(attn) Hello, first off, this IS a family friendly site & secondly, now the higher ups on the Mazda chain have apparently seen this and they have to be saying wtf. I'm actually surprised no one spot-checked the flag over prior to taking it to all the teams to sign.
Glad it was a quick fix...hopefully they overlook this incident and move on. Too much M-logo love here.

Perro, on behalf of everyone w/a brain...accept our apologies & pass on our apologies to everyone that will listen. Some people just don't know how to act.(gah)

I never got involved in the Honda community for that reason. I still have my Civic, and I still have plans for it. Mazda is much more of a family than any other car manufacturer I've been involved with... and there have been quite a few. A close second are the Senior Six Registry, classic BMW guys.

o darn....everything got deleted...one would assume with the way some were acting in other threads earlier yesterday it would all be ok. lol

everyone is sorry it happened...people make mistakes. guessing it wouldn't get repeated if it could all be played out again and definitely needs to be known it can't happen again. all in all some still need to realize this community stretches far beyond just the race tracks to include all kinds of people. one would assume mazda and everyone else knows that so punishing all or pulling sponsorships and support wouldn't seem very realistic. just like punishing and lashing out at eecmm is unrealistic....ashamed it happened there yeah but still ashamed of the response from a select few that just made the situation worse. most of the people around here have pored their money sweat and effort into the mazda scene including people eecmm. happens often where one or a few can ruin it for many but as a community you think people would be less ignorant and judgmental. some obviously need to work on that....

Yes, you're right. It does stretch past the race tracks, and includes even small back yard BBQ's, parking lot gatherings, and just the random "Hey, I'm in town for work, who wants to grab dinner" type things. That's what makes this community so great. As long as people keep a good head on their shoulders, it will stay that way. We ALL must remember that no matter where we are, or what we do, we're not just representing ourselves, we're also representing the car manufacturer that we all know and love.

So, as was said before, let's get this thing fixed one way or another, and keep it going.

Honestly.... if it didn't happen at EECMM, do people really think it wouldn't have happened at all? With it traveling around to numerous people, it was bound to happen sometime. But hey, that just might be MY opinion. Was it disrespectful? Of course. BUT, it is being fixed... so that's that. Let's get over it and not bash EECMM anymore. Just because 1 person decided to do something dumb, doesn't mean the whole meet is one big hot mess. I've gone for 2 years now and I will continue to show my support for the meet each year it goes on.... even after this happened to the flag.

It's a Mazda community. We're all in a big Mazda family. Can we start acting like it, please?

I for got I used to own a BMW 740 too ! Please forgive me but in my defense I wasent an ass I just loved the Speed

The thing is, it doesnt matter where it happen! It's that it happen! Not placing any blame on Alex(ScratchNSniff), but people should have been monitoring this. At LRP I kept(while I was there) Just as much of an eye on this as I did my own kid! I knew the importance of this flag and where it was going in the future....When I left the guys I left it with were the same way, they didnt just leave it out. They took it out when it was time to get teams to sign, or if people wanted to sign it and then put it away. I hope that the Members that are going to receive this after this incident take better care and watch what happens when people are signing this. Again not saying anything bad about Alex, Im sure he didnt know it was happening and was all over it when it was done.

Like Antoine, I have been working damage control with my connections. 99% of our community is like minded and have a sense of pride, not only for the community, but for themselves as well.

I commend Worbit for his idea, the fact that some one disrespected what he created is the true shame of it all. He clearly wanted to do something for the community in a very positive and uniting way.

Props to those who stood up and voiced their opinions in regards to the immature actions of a few, it is not easy sometimes. Just an FYI, if you requested the flag for an event, please take the responsibility of overseeing it and keep BS from happening like this again. We have a strong sense of community here, let us keep it going for all of our sakes.

We'll continue to support and attend those events where the entire community is respected and appreciated.

Have a Zoom, freakin', Zoom day!

It is not so much that one person screwed up, it is the overall attitude of those that defended the individual(s) that did it. We have a saying in our household, 'excuses are nothing more than a dressed up lie", someone knows who did this and they don't even have the balls to take responsibility for it, obviously no pride in their work.

Those who know me, know that if they need anything for a meet, they can contact me and I will lend my support and offer up my contacts as well. I already have a back up flag, in case this one can't be fixed, which I know it can. Thanks for your support, hope to meet you at a future event!

WOW.... there is alot more going on here than i thought.... glad its being fixed and hope all ur sponsors and MazdaUSA can over look one persons immaturity and keep backing you guys up. Must say i give u guys a thumbs up for all the connections and events that are going on. I must agree with Mazda love and the pride that comes with owning a mazda. Though im new to this forum the same applies with other mazda forums. We are also family like and very prideful in our mazdas. Wish i owned the forum so i could join forces or at least back each other up but im jus a simple mod. But thats no the point of my post.

Like perro del sol has in his signature.... Zoom freakin' Zoom

remember that we had this flag handed to us by a mazda dealership so as thanks for them doing it we should not have put that drawing on the flag and secondly that dealership wants us to send pictures to them so that is why it must be kept professional.

..now that is is fixed lets keep it going (yippy)

I thought the flag was purchased off ebay...

So, I thought I would see if people on here would like to try and do the same thing with the above MAZDA flag. We could start a list of people who are in and once I get the flag (just bought one on ebay for $13) Ill snap a shot, post it in here, and then PM the next person in line requesting their address so the flag can move on :) Each person who gets the flag will be responsible for shipping the flag to the next address (that means you have to pay for the shipping). Only add your name to the list if you honestly plan on shipping the flag out in a timely manor to the next person in line. If you're in the military, please let us know if you get papers for deployment and I can remove you from the list.

It was going to happen eventually, sucks it did happen, but luckly it was in the begining so it's easier to cover up. I'm just sad I didn;t get to sign it

I thought the flag was purchased off ebay...
So I went to the dealership where I bought my MS6 from and spoke to the lot manager. After telling him what we were trying to do with the mini flag that I bought on ebay, he went into the parts department and pulled this out.......
(I was given this flag FOR FREE on one condition, I bring back the pictures when we are done!)
Sooooo.....I guess this just got serious now that we have a FULL SIZE flag :) Im going to meet up with the Washington State crew tonight and Ill post the first pix when I get home..... :)

they don't have any huge flags on ebay, only small ones. This quote was taken from several pages after the opening post of the GI thread.

however, i see how u thought that. after all that was on the op of this thread.

you think anyone could have handled the situation better?

Yes. Infact it would be difficult to handle it worse.

people, guess what...it might happen again especially as ****** up as some of you are acting.

Not sure what you mean. Are you saying the M S F folks are going to try this again, or do you mean that someone here would do this?
