I was born in the Philippines and loved it. I think it's because that's were I spent the majority of my formative years. I was used to "showering" using cold-water from a bucket, walking around in flip-flops, and just not having much in general with regards to luxuries. So life was simple.mountjonas said:

Bottom line... There is the Filipino culture, the American culture and the Filipino-American culture and none is better than the other... In my own opinion, a good person is a good person no matter what culture... the same goes with the bad!!!

s***, i'm walking around in slippers right now. i refuse to call them flip flops... my fiance hates it when i call them slippers. according to her, only filipinos call them slippers. what does her cracker-ass know, anyways.

man slippers were always worn in the philippines... nowadays in the U.S it is becoming a fashion statement... go into gap, jcrew, banana republic, etc etc and look at all them selling slippers nowadays!!!
