EDIT:
My girlfriend is chinese/filipino. This is just off topic. Has anyone else noticed that a lot of straight filipino guys talk very feminine-like?

Btw, I'm chinese but my parents were raised in the philippines so they both speak chinese and tagalog.

The main reason why filipino males who are raised in the Philippines seem effeminate is because "proper" behavior and being respectful is a huge part of Filipino culture. Be it respect for Elders or the opposite sex. For Filipino men raised in the traditional manner, being "maginoo" is highly encouraged and translates into respect for one's self as well as respect from the community. In a culture that prides itself in community and the "Kababayan" spirit, the respect of others in the community is highly valued. But at the same time, don't mistake kindness and tolerance as weakness. Do anything to insult their honor or the honor of those they care about and you'll literally see someone go buck-booty-wild.
No joke.

good point moos! i guess filipinos born and raised here in the US were exposed to the western culture. unlike back home, customs and tradition of our ancestors are still being practiced.

you guys would be surprise once you get a kabayan drunk with the good old "San Miguel beer" and the famous "GIN Bulag" aka" Kwatro kantos", you'll see who's feminine.

Peace out to all my kababayans! Mabuhay!
