The front looks a lot a the volvo S40.

I like it. I'd never buy one because of how defective they are, but I've with mods and body kits I've seen some really nice ones. Maybe the damn thing will improve once they add the Mazda3 parts to it.

It should, 2nd gen Focus is off the same C1 platform as the S40 (and Mazda3!)

The Foci in Europe NEVER had to go through all the recalls because they were never cheaped out like the N/A model was.

It's the same platform as a volvo and a MAZDA. Geez, you people are dense.

I hate people who say, "Yeah, but it's still a ________!" Cars is cars, and this car is a complete redesign of the orginal Focus. It's the original in name only.

Why do I bother? Most ignorance is willful...

That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing a mkII focus in the US. The mkI redesign is fugly.

Jeez, what's wrong with focus. I think that car is very handsome looking. I remember all the hipe in europe in 1997-1998 in europe when the first gen focus was shown at a show... This car beat oh so many records in europe.... They even built a factory in RUSSIA to make focus there (the quality by the way is controlled very strictly).... So since the US focus or at least the first gen had reliability issues it doesn't mean it needs to be bashed... It WAS a very good attempt by Ford to bring a small compact to compete with the japanease and german competition. Let's keep our fingers crossed some of those problems will be taken care off.

Oh by the way trust me i know, lol. My family was a "proud" (not for too long) owner of one of the first two foci station wagons that came to the near by dealer, back in late 1999. Although that car was a big jump from the car we had before it, a 1991 subaru loyale with 150000 miles, it had some major suspention issues... The wind shield would also crack at random, many times....
Subaru was the only car we could afford when we just came from russia.....

sorry for the long post....

the focus has a great reputation in europe, beating out the mazda3 and other small cars in its class. the quality is also top notch, as they aren not manufactured in the US for EU sales.

rims would make that zx3 look pretty good. cant say about the 5 since the angle is bad.

i own a 02 focus zx3, its my first car. its not that bad, i had and still have alot of problems with it but its not that bad of a car. its good to try stuff on and do stupid s*** with it and learn how to drive stick with. its a good project car if you ever want to invest a shitload of money into something. its like the american civic hatchback, theres a s*** load of aftermarket parts for it.
