the MSP is a big Theft Magnet

Or you can get one of those alarms that have the noise generators. They are so high pitched that you can only stand to be in the car for a second or two. Maybe just enough time to grab some cd or loss items around. And also to prevent your car from being stolen just install a fuel cut. Splice into the power going to the fuel pump and put a switch in and then hide the switch, so when you park the car you just hit the switch and them there is no power going to the fuel pump...

damn that does blow ! get a matrix RS3 Best Security System Ever! (sorry to sound like an ad but its true)

My factory alarm is pretty damn good i have V.I.N etched in the window's and fuel system shut off and electronic shut off. because alot of car's get stolen from the dealership i bought it from, man i fell your pain i would be pissed if someone broke in to my car, and go buy your self a GLOCK.

Hmm are the laws there different then in Canada... here, most of the stuff that was ripped off is covered under home insurance, not car insurance.. at worse I couldn't see home insurance going up more than 50 bux a year because of this.. even after the deductable you would still come out ahead?

BlackMSP

Been there, dealt with it with my MX-6 (below). But mine was worse. Almost Gone in 60 seconds like. Slim Jimed my passenger side door open, popped the hood and disconnected both battery cables. Never even heard the alarm go off. They knew me too. Took my CD's (250 including some computer programs), tweeters, subbox (brand new W6 in it), amp and what speakers they didn't take out they FUBARed with a screwdriver. Then (this makes me think they new me), they stole my back up cash (there's a plastic piece on the backside of the center console that pops out. I used to hide about $100 there for emergencies) and my spare key. I spent 3 months hoping they just didn't put batteries in the keyless entry and drove off with my baby. Guess I don't have to sorry about that anymore.

But, always look out for who's paying attention to your car and keep things to a minimum that are visible. Better yet, any CD's you want in there, BURN THEM and keep the originals at home. That's what I'm doing now.

Feel for ya man.

damn, that bites. that sucks big time. guess we all live and learn. best thing to do, hide stuff of value, and get a club or autolock. either one will do. it's all about making your car less desirable than the one sitting next to it.

hey 1sty, how about we set up a dummy car loaded with stuff in plain sight and let someone take a crack at it, then while they r trying to break in we sneak up and beat the s*** out of them

Shock

BlackMSP - Dude that sucks, I fell for ya. I had a sweet black SPG with some amps and subs in the back and an asshole opened my unlocked rear hatch and took all my crap....

So I went under the dash and checked out my clifford looking shock sensor and it's wire tied to a small group of wires. This seems crappy to me. In my install days I would always mount the shock sensor on the firewall or another peice of large metal. Looks to me as if any shock would be absorbed by the wires the shock sensor was mounted on and it wouldn't trip the alarm.

What do you guys think and do you have the same poop install?

Also I found something else out....it's one of those 2 stage sensors. If you KINDA hit it, it beeps a couple of times and KINDA goes off for a second. Then if you really hit it, it goes off full.

Nope, that doesn't sound like a good install technigue to me either.
I was tought that directly on the steering column was the best as it will feel any shock to the vehical. Not the rotating part mind you but the suport structure. I am not an alarm expert by any means though.
The MSP has a Code alarm.

1st MP3 in NH - DUDE! You agree with me!!! :D :D :D :D :D

NO WAY! SWEET!!!!:p

hehe

Anyway yea. That is a joke shock sensor spot. I wish there was a way to smash the window and check the alarm.....without smashing the window. ;)

The thing that sucks is I don't see a bracket or "thing" to screw into on the sensor. I'll have to think of something....any ideas?

I am not 100% sure what your asking?

Well the sensor is just a solid black smooth plastic box. It's almost like I would have to glue it to something .... which is stupid. It doesn't have a tab or mounting holes. The old sensors I used to install had a long metal peice that you could screw to pratically anything.

COuld you get a few wire ties around it to fasten it really tight to a bracket?

Thats possible ... I'll have to get on my back tonight to check it out.....it hurts though.....It's funny how stuff gets sore quicker now...:D

For the 10 minutes it takes, remove the seat and save your back.
Last time I did that in my MP3 while wiring becuase I knew I would be under there for the better half of a day.

shock sensor mounted to wiring harness

code alarm recomends mounting the shock sensor by attatching it to a wiring harness with a couple zip ties, or velcro to anything under the dash. there is a warning in the install manuals not to firmly mount the sensor to the column, firewall, or floorpan or its sensitivity will be very poor, especially at the rear of the car. never tried anything except mounting to big bundle of wires in the dash or console so i dont know for sure.
