The Moderately Low (Not Slammed) and Functional Thread

How hard was it to wire up the Racepak? I have been looking at getting one for my car..and I assume that is a PAR gearset?

Brain, do you track the car? If so, do you have any track video or anything we can see the P5 at it's full potential?

ps- I have the same stereo. ;)

One wire to the Haltech runs the entire show..

I was almost going to ask if a gearset like that is affordable, but then I remembered whose car it is...

Yes If you look in the Garage under "Most Money Spent"

I have only entered 19 Mods and that totals $24,000

The Next down has 77 Mods at $19,000

So you are correct, the gears are Effen $$$$

Not yet, I am a bit disappointed in the video's inability to convey just how brutal this car pulls. I am going to get to a track if possible before the fall really kicks in..

Hey thats me- I underpriced everything............LOL, but yes I saw the price on that gearset/ EMS and damn.....I wish I had the $. Atleast I am switching to the Haltech this winter ;)

I agree, the GoPro's don't seem to show speed/ acceleration well for the car they are on.

BTW it's been along time Brian, how have things been?

Lolz, I meant nothing by it... It was more to answer the question... Are the gears affordable...

Things are great, the car is running strong... The only way to get the Go-Pro to actually show or represent is some of the new vids I am working on.. Where I have three cameras on the car.

Front, Side, Rear..

The basic idea is pull up behind, match speed and then Pass from 3rd gear tall, then a bit of 4th... As the car passes from view, switch to side, then rear... and watch them vanish..

I think we should all pony up money for fuel and tires and you should give us all a ride so we can get the FULL experience. That will solve your problem of the video not being able to convey it properly.

No, this spring.

I need the winter to install the larger turbo, up The Boost and dial everything in on the Dyno.

Are you using the CAN BUS setup or is there literally just one wire that "ouputs all" from the PS1000? I thought about picking one up for a while but I settled on the Sprint RE (basically a Sprint 500 for the rotary) and didn't want to mess with it all. I haven't identified a good way to measure roadspeed yet anyway...

Gotcha. Sounds easy enough. I imagine I could hook it up in a similar manner as I do my laptop to my MS3/MS3x.
What kind of power are you making in that?
You could probably not just hook up the IQ3, it is designed to operate off of a CAN BUS, like a network or LAN in the car. It is connected directly to my ECU, but that ECU is connected to everything in the car so it's a bit more complicated than that. I was just saying that if you already had a Haltech E8, E12, PS1000, PS2000 or Sprint500, it is literally One wire to add the IQ3. I have been running the GT28 Well beyond it's limits. I can get one or two pulls out of 25 - 27 PSI but then the EGT is way too high from the heat generated by the back pressure of the turbo. Basically, going from 15 to 20 Psi, there is a huge difference, but going from 20 - 25 or 27, there is much less HP being made because the turbo is literally starving the motor. This Fall/Winter the turbo is being replaced with a Perfectly suited GT-3071 .63, It will satisfy up to 500 HP which the GT-28rs will never be able to do. I am expecting to be able to breach 400 WHP at 25 PSI. Everything is built to survive that, and I need as much torque as possible to get from 250 - 300 Km/h quickly so I can throw down some speed in TEXAS!

CAN BUS Only being used to output to the IQ3 Dash... Everything else is hooked up like normal.

Road speed Yes, I have a Hall Effect sensor that reads a magnet on each drive shaft. A Single magnet passes once per revolution. The Haltech reads that and calculates speed based on the ratio that has been entered into it. there is a speed for the Left and Right tire..

Seems a bit crazy to change to a Haltech just to get an IQ3, but the Haltech interface is Awesome.

Win-7 64 Bit support and down.

Nah, not happening. I will be sticking with my setup. I will figure it out when the time comes. I know the guys at DIY, and I am sure we can come up with something to interface with the MS3.
