lol even the rear bothers me....9" with a 245....needs a 255!
i wanna get spacers for my fronts....im running 8" +25 in the rear?
damn 205/40's are killing me lol
i need 195/40's
8" is the rim width, +25 is the offset. Its 25mm away from the center line going away from the car. Adding a spacer will reduce offset number and push the rims out further.
um, no....if you add a 25mm spacer to a +25 will be the same as having a wheel that is +50 offset...unless im just screwing up the terminology![]()
i thought offset was only for the rims... didnt know it had to do with the entire set up
sorry i added to my post after you commented i think
this is what i added
Edit: better example
lol yeah, i had that backwards...i b retarded
i thought offset was only for the rims... didnt know it had to do with the entire set up
i dont even know what the number on my tire mean either.... all i know it the last number (ex: ???/?? R15) is rim size
I see...I like the tuckage but with a 45 series for comfort...you can't always get what you want...Ya, he's definitely a little lower than me. He's tucking a little tire and I think his tires are lower profile than mine, too. Look like 40 series, I run 45.
Yeah, not really...I just installed this new mod- it's called hovercraft... (naughty)Must be difficult to drive with no suspension! (confused)
So effectively if you run spacers, its "like" adding negative offset to your wheel?
Sleezer, I hope your sig is photoshopped. Or else you might be in the wrong thread, brotha...
That +25 is just the offset of the wheel. Nothing to do with the tires.
All good.
Offset is just for the wheels. But there are numerous factors that go into fitting wheels.
example: 225/45R17
225 is the wheel width
45 is the sidewall height
17 is the wheel diameter
It is not cut and dry measurements, tho. The tire width and sidewall height are ratios of each other, so a 215/45/17 will not have the same sidewall height of a 225/45/17. The 215/45/17 will have a shorter sidewall due to the ratio against a smaller width.
To be more correct... it's not exactly sidewall height. It is the height, but the number is an aspect ratio of the width. 45% of the 215mm width.
