The little Civic that could....so they thought!

Just thought I'd share this one...

I was leaving the Friday CiCi's spot, and was just cruising down I-20 on my way to work. There was this silver Civic (01+) with exhaust pacing me on the on-ramp. I was like ah...ok? Anyway, I am going the speed limit (60) and the go by me once we get on the highway. I speed up a little to make up time since I want to get to work on time, and there is some traffic lined up for 3 lanes from left to right with the Civic on the end. I proceed to go around, and get in front. I get in the lane just to the right of the far left lane, as I just wanted to cruise. Soon the Civic pulls up next to me, and coasts. I can hear the exaust blip...Wooooooooooom. The dip it a couple of times. I just look at them and shake my head

and keep the same speed. They pull off making a lot of noise, but not really going anywhere. At that point I say what the hell. I don't even downshift, and hit 6 PSI. I catch up within like 4 seconds and start to pass. I hear the Civic go Wooooooooooooooo! It's no use. I get like 5-6 carlengths very quick, and around 95, I let off the gas and return to cruise speed. This was all with my big exhaust leak from my EGR tube too. Can't wait to get my s*** sealed up proper like! Of course they do the "Type R" fly-by after we get down the road some. (laugh)

Sounds like when i went to sea side..and these 3 civics roll up next to me..and start revving..and i am like no way...they all buzz right by me..and my girlfriend says what the hell...so i hit the bottle opener..and come up next them..revving..and we all hit it..i passed all three like there were standing. still...it was funny...they all pulled upto where i parked (white castle) and were like what you got..i showed them and they complained i was cheating...I laughed and told them posers to roll off!!

as much as some of the idiots on this board that s*** on hondas they make damn good cars...it's the owners that rice the car no matter the manufacturer...i can point out all the proteges, mx6s, millenias in my area with 20" rims or double decker wings and make some unfounded generalization

i don't know if i would say it's "cheating," but a car that runs a certian time using nitrous doesn't deserve as much respect (IMO) as one that does it w/out, simply b/c nitrous is a kind of "band-aid"...it's just a temporary boost, while a turbo'd or built N/A engine is always capable of that performance.

maybe that's what they meant, i dunno. either way, you won -- it's friggin street racing anyway. those guys are cheesers (and POSEURS).
