so i thought i solved the problem permanently but i got the p0139 "i have a header" code again. Tsunami helped me out a lot when i was having trouble with it before, hopefully he can give me some advice again. I have 2 bungs on it already do i or should i add a 3rd one?

no more bungs.... have you looked up what that code says? i haven't had an issue with mine for a long time so i am confused as why you had it come back how many miles where you without an issue? what other modifications do you have?

its the heater circuit slow response error from what i had a long time ago. i did some searching and found one of my old threads where i was talking about it. so i would think having 2 non foulers maybe to many and its to far out of the exhaust stream to heat up quickly enough for the ecu to be happy. i would try that first.

yea i deff think that's it BUT i turned it off with my scanguage and its fine now. I think it was after 300-400 miles, roughly.

yeah if it stays off for a while again and ocmes back on you may want to just remove one of the non foulers and see if you get different results.

im getting 26-28mpg and i can't pass the 30mpg marker. I wonder if i do take one of the non foulers out if it would improve it even though im driving with out a CEL right now and it runs fine performance wise.

your 26-28 is probably due to your right foot and nothing else.. you have this new sound that you like to hear and the more you get into it the more sound you get and more you feel the freed up hp so the more your right foot goes to the floor.... i have the thunder header no cel and consistantly get 30-34mpg depending on my driving style and type of trip i am on (i have gotton 36+ on strictly highway.)

i got 34 mpg today with a really light foot on the highway so yea its prob my foot, till i saw bmw come up on the side of me...in the city i don't get much at all though and even when i do try to drive nice i still don't get any where near what your getting. Could it be me putting 87 with the advance timing mod or shifting at around 2500 when i start off in all the gears except 4th to 5th which i shift at 3200k. BTW I stayed side by side with the 5 series till i hit 100 then i slowed down back to 65 even though the road was empty.

i don't really drive much city i live in the country so i hardly have any stop and go unless i get stuck at work and have to deal with traffic... but its only a few minutes usually... if you are hearing knock then you should put in a higher octane but otherwise 87 is fine.

no i don't hear any knock but when i put 89 at WOT and when taking off its so much smoother and WOT feels better. Since the gas prices are so dam high i put in 89 sometimes but most of the time its just reg gas. Stay away from wal mart gas though. Made my car feel like there gas was maple syrup, the car acclerated very rough and WOT didn't feel like WOT.

I throw a code every so often (intake, draxas header with 2 anti-foulers + advanced timing mod, and Ark exhaust) but usually clear it by re-setting the ecu. On the occasion I have had the code read by Autozone, its been either too rich or too lean mixture. I've noticed that if I run in a higher gear at lower speed it will trigger, ie 5th gear at 40mph after a couple minutes. Whereas if I run at 3rd gear at 40mph it wouldn't trigger.
Weird, huh? I want to get a Scangauge or DashHawk sometime so I can figure out what the hell is happening.

what kind of intake are you running i had the same problem with intake to lean and it ended up being a bad seal in my simota intake...

scangauge is prob one of the best investments i've made and i said investment because i switch it car to car if lets say my other car has a engine light on or w/e.

yeah i have the program TEKMATE for my laptop plugs into any OBDII port and lets me pull and clear codes and monitor sensors... for those with a laptop its a nice lil program.
