The CX-5 LED Lighting Thread

Nice,thanks.(2thumbs)
10% is better than nothing.
Looking forward to your install, fit and review.

The pins are long on the 5Ks as well. At first I thought about trimming but didn't want to void warranty and connector fits on there nice and snug. I seriously doubt it would ever come off by itself. This is a less than 5 minute job as DRLs are probably the easiest bulb to get to.

They seem whiter to me than photo suggests. IMO they seem brighter... but I never stared much at stock drls either

Thanks K,I just ordered the 5K's.
I don't like the hint of blue 6K LEDs.

Yeah.. I saw the fitment posts so opted to go 29mm. I'll probably lose some output compared to the 31mm but it should still be better than what I have now. This is merely a functional upgrade as I quite often use the cargo area and usually have a spare flashlight on hand.

Installed cargo LED today. Nice upgrade to stock lighting.

How tough is it to install the LEDs?

It's pretty easy.

I didn't disconnect battery. Use a small screwdriver with something on it to protect it from scratching anything. The light pops out from the bottom of the lower right side.

I disconnected the light switch, swapped bulbs, re-plugged connector and pushed it back in.

I'd recommend unplugging the light switch assembly from harness just to play it safe.

Like Kedis82ZE8 posted...it is an easy install.

I took the interor lever off auto to off as manual states.

I actually was able to push down the connector release and just unhook the wire connector. Then took the stock bulb out which with a twist came out easily, put the LED in and connected the wire connection.
No tools.
The passenger side was a little tighter but easily doable.
Looks great!

Instructions if needed are in the manual on page 6-41 and 6-42 for the Tech w/HIDs.

Just installed the same 5K VLEDS LEDs and like you said, the LED connection to wiring connection fits snug and I have no worry of it coming loose.
The LEDs look great.Nice bright white without any hint blue which I wanted.

Good to hear yours worked out the same!!

OK, I just got mine in the mail. Put them in (easy peazy), started the vehicle, set the parking brake snug, put it in drive and got out to find they didn't work! Checked the connectors again and still no dice. Frustrated, came in here to find this thread and ask for help. As I am typing it dawned on me that the DRL's go out when the parking brake is applied. Just checked now from inside the vehicle in drive with the parking brake off. They work and appear nice and bright. I'll just call that my "Doh!" moment for today! :-)

Has anyone here used a flasher to stop the hyper blinking? Seems like the easiest way.
