The 2nd MS6 Build-a-Beast in the country!!!

Got any rationale for this statement?

thin at temperature (increases risk of shear)
personal experience with 2 cars that sheared, both had Redline put in afterwards and were fine.
extremely low oil pressure at idle.
dozens of rod bearing failures (search it on NASIOC.com)

Just a general bad mojo for me..I like Redline.

Please feel free to start a thread on that topic..I'd rather not pollute Kenny's thread with any more oil arguments.

Kenny, definitely run synthetic on this motor after break-in, and please do me a favor and DON'T run M1 5w30, or 10w30.

just curious what you thought of the shortblock we sold to Kenny. let me know! i spoke with him today and know he is happy thus far.

neutral safety switch

Ok, I have about 400 miles on the new engine so far, which consists of alot of street driving and very little highway. Boost doesn't get past 10 psi. Still running well. Looks like the dyno may not be until friday the 13th although that doesn't sound too hot if you know what I mean. So we'll see how that pans out. But my real question is since the engine was done, i've only thrown 1 code that i'm concerned with and that is NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH. now I can't quite remember on this trans, but i know it's a threaded pin that connects to a harness and a 2 pin plug which should plug in near the valve cover. Does anyone have a picture or can tell me where this switch is located on this trans???? Perhaps mine is unplugged or even missing all together.

Hmmm? I'm pretty sure it was YOU that mentioned a particular oil to stay away from and apparently based on anecdotal evidence from a Subaru web forum. I don't care what oil you like, or not. I was hoping you would have some specific, scientific evidence for your profound recommendation. Apparently not, so thanks for playing...(dunno)

some test data on M1

If you really care about the topic, you'll research it for yourself. There will always be M1 nutswingers, but I'm not one of them, too many personal negative experiences and test data to go along with it.

My recommendation to MY customer is to not use M1 in this motor. YOU can do whatever you want..I don't care. Thanks.

These are some pics I took today. The engine has 700 miles on it so far and I am now running castrol full synthetic. It's running strong and I have the cp-e ems plugged in using their base map. I have since purchased aem wideband digital gauge, aem digital tru boost, and aem digital oil temp gauge which will go in the center dash gauge pod that is made for this vehicle. At 10 psi this car rips. 22 psi is going to be scary. Dyno appointment is scheduled for saturday the 14th. I really didn't wanna get it done on friday the 13th. Anyways, i'll keep you guys posted.

spoke with the owner today, he sounds very excited about the prospects for this car. so am i!

Any new updates?

My dyno appointment is this saturday. Hopefully the boost clip feature in the standback will eliminate boost cut. I have a feeling that MAF isn't the only determining factor for this. If you guys have any helpful information regarding this, I would appreciate it. Other than that everything is running tip top. I installed my 3 gauges today: AEM tru boost, AEM air fuel, and AEM oil temp. Had to do quite a bit of custom work to the pod, but being very particular yielded a very good result.

Good luck on the dyno. Let us know how that goes. I am looking to do the same set up in a few weeks so I have high hopes for this.

Sky I was looking at your engine bay and I notice that the battery is missing! Where did you put it! Are you runing the stock TIP?
