The 2nd MS6 Build-a-Beast in the country!!!

what's your first thoughts after picking it up?

THE SOUND, THE SOUND, THE SOUND.... my god... I don't know whats better, the induction noise or the highly unique exhaust note. everyone loves the sound..... suby guys, audi guys, I pulled up next to some kid in an evo and he just followed me for like 3 miles, probably to listen to the exhaust and hks blow-off. hell I got a thumbs up from a couple of conservative purists sittin in front of a store front in their lawn chairs with their beer coolers in hand showing off their pre-21st century muscle bound v8's. The turbo is great. I put about 100 miles on the car today. Alot of stop and go to really get these rings to seat properly. She is running pig rich and shot a couple of fireballs. I haven't taken it much past 4k with part throttle... keeping boost around 10 psi.... i'm loving this car more and more....

What made you decide to use the stock exhaust manifold? This is shown in one of your pics. Figured fully built, you would go with a dnp or pg mani?

nice setup.

I have a very similar setup as you but on a stock motor.

The turbo and FMIC along w/ a tune will be done by the end of june.

best of luck

The factory manifold is a nice cast iron piece with no welds or joints. There is alot of heat and pressure at this junction and I would rather not take a chance on a thinner alternative.

finally something to look forward too and some good news about building this damn car.. good luck to u sir.

Today is the day I pick up the car. I got a call last night saying everything is a go. No oil leaks, AFR's are in the low 11's and high 10's. The builder does more subarus than anyone in this area and we know what torque monsters those are, matter fact there is an 07 sti up there that spun 350 whp the other day. My mechanic came right out and said that this turbo is the perfect size, and one of the best he's seen in a long time. He obviously couldn't really get on it, but just from taking it for a spin he said it pulls viscously and he can't wait to tune it. I called Jordan yesterday at CP-E and he says the flash is a couple weeks out but will resolve the throttle plate closing at 5500 rpm. Other than that i'll keep you guys posted. There will obviously be a dyno video next week some time because I am breaking her in this weekend.

I'm from the Detroit area. Where did you have your work done?

My stage 3 isn't a 6 puck? i wouldn't think the speed6 is much different, if different at all

Not knocking on you. the 3071r won't push more than 400wtq or so. Best of luck to you. I've done it all, so if you have questions I'm definitely here to help.

Would you possibly have any advice on the break in process? I have about 250 miles on the engine, alot of street driving, stop and go. I haven't revved it passed 5000 rpm. At about 500 miles should I dump this oil and put in synthetic or stick to conventional 5w 30. Any insight?

wheel spacers

To clear the calipers, I had to use the spacers. A local machine-shop did them for me. Perfect hub-centrics.

Good luck with your build and keep us posted!

JC

I have the same rims you do, the OZ ultraleggeras. I was thinking about getting rotoras because they have a bigger looking caliper and I can get them in blue, but my question is did your brembos not fit with those wheels which is why you have hub spacers? and if so how are they and where did you buy them?

Kenny, definitely run synthetic on this motor after break-in, and please do me a favor and DON'T run M1 5w30, or 10w30.

Sky,
Good luck and best wishes for you and your ride. Looks great and please do post some vids and dyno's for "the beast".
