If you can tell the difference in a stock photo between a half inch then your eyes are far more calibrated than mine.

Many wheels companies simply add or subtract material from the hub mounting surface to change offset with the same width wheel. A change of 8mm in the offset would hardly necessitate an entirely new mold. This holds even more true for companies with smaller profit margins, aka cheaper wheel companies.

How dare you doubt my supervision!!

...but yeah, you might be right. Then again would a wider wheel even be a factor? Isn't offset just distance from hub to outside of the wheel. Added with would only change the distance from the hub to the inside of the wheel. They might limit amounts of molds but i'm pretty sure they've gotta have at least two molds. The one in that pic and the one on my car.

The wheel in the picture might not even be an 18inch wheel.

Offset is the distance between the wheels centerline and the hub mounting surface.

Currently on BBS LM. That could change though. Next set will either be CCW Classics or some mag blue te37's. Or maybe I should just buy some Tenzos so scatt will stop picking on me.

Mag Blue RE30 or Fail, forget TE37 that wheel needs to be retired, my friend has 18x10 Mag Blue RE30 on his STi. That would be steppin your "wheel game" up a notch.

TE's are classic and I doubt they'll ever go out of style.

The RE30 is nice and they do come in 17x9 +43.

Choices choices.

I was thinking on this awhile W13 and i could not figure the downside to this manufacturing process. It saves them money and saves us money and all the while the artistry of the design is unchanged. By the way i saw your wheels on a slammed red gti. very nice

True, those are the upsides. You are also limited in the number of offsets available because you can only add or subtract so much material from the mounting pad safely or before you start to interfere with brake clearance depending on wheel design.

PS: thanks!

Yes you are either hitting the struts or rolling fenders. I wanted to run the 235s in the rear on 18/8 but i was going to lower the car. So i pussied out and bought stickier 225/40 (traction is my goal)I got the Cobbs and the rears do not rub. So thats cool but now have the coilovers on the kitchen floor and i am going to set the rear down a pinch more whenever i get around to installing them. I unfortunately do not know anyone who can roll the rear fenders yet. Also the 225s really are sticking pretty good and look not bad from the rear. I am mostly looking for performance though as compared to all the really good looking cars that are on our forums. But i know alot of those fly too!
Mazdaspeed 3s rock!(drinks)
