temporary fix for the front license plate

:
MSP & MS3
So you guys know that stupid ass license plate bracket most of us have on our front bumper? Aside from taking it off, filling the holes and spending loot to get it professionally painted (I'm sorry but touch up paint on my new ride isn't cool) I found something that's at least... keeping me partially satisfied (for the moment) Since we have limited production rides, I thought it would be cool to display the # to the rest of the world. Some kind of badge on the side or back would be ideal but that license plate was pleading for attention so I had some dude at the mall make one up. Looks pretty sweet I guess. It's probably a temporary "fix" until I think of something better. Still, when people ask what the number refers to... it gives us a good opportunity to rub in the fact that we had the balls to buy something unique. (as opposed to the sheep who flock to the various other dealerships and buy "just another car") Ours may not be the fastest... but for the money, it's the most unique. L8R

No F'in way!! That's sweet. For some reason, I never thought of trying to pressure them into it. As I said, this is only a temp fix in my mind. (nothing looks better than no plate at all) So how did you do it??? Any advice? I mean... those plugs are cheap but the paint? I imagine that would cost a good $100 at any body shop.

i told them that my car shouldn't have come with a front license plate bracket espeically one that's drilled into it. i told them if it was something that had the proper brackets then that's fine at least the holes wouldn't be there. i got the sales manager to come look at it and they said ok we'll fix it. all you gotta do is tell them that. they had 2 other MSP's there and none of them had a front license plate holder.

I have a feeling they'lll be a little harder to deal with considering the fact that my state (CT) has a law about front plates. I don't know... it's worth a shot though.

Hey Arunto,I,m in the process of trying to get mt dealer to fix my holes for free as well!I should know monday whether or not they will pay for it!And having a good body shop repair the holes in the bumper would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $350-500 dollars to be done right seeing how the bumper would have to be removed to be repaired correctly! With all the trouble I have had out of my ride(blown motor+scratch done by dealer)I am hoping they will fix my bumper just to make me happy!:D

When the body shop put my new bumper on, I told them not to drill the holes, and they said they had to because it was the law...I said "No, the law requires ME to have a front license plate mounted, it doesn't require you to install it". They gave me some crap that it was their responsibility...I didn't even have my license plate on the car in the first place, so they couldn't put it on...I pointed that out, and they were like, "okay, but it's your fault if you get a ticket"...Please...like I'm more concerned about a $10 ticket versus having some holes unnecessarily drilled in my new bumper...
