tape deck wires

I have an HU with no tape deck or MD deck in it. It has that spacer piece to cover up the blank space. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, I was wondering if there are still wires in the HU for installing the tape deck or if that's an entirely different HU. The reason I'm asking is because if there are existing wires for it, I was thinking I could use them to install a 1/8" input for external sources.

I'm probably way out of my league here (I've never done any car audio), but any thoughts? Thanks.

NO wires just a plug in the unit to take wires

I'm with you on this emptystrings. A number of people have said they are working on this but I haven't seen anyone post which lines to tap into.

I'm interested in any information you find. I am about ready to yank my deck and see if I can make any headway myself.

1st MP3 in NH, what kind of plugs are back there? Are they something standard that I could find a match for at Radioshack, or does it require a custom job?

Nothing to my knowledge esists yet, it is a mazda specific wiring clip.

Somebody said they reverse engineered it and were going to post the schematics. I haven't seen another post though.
