Taking a Poll on Front Spoilers - Please Respond

Hello Everyone,

I am taking a poll to guage how many people would be interested in buying a Front Spoiler very similar in design to the AutoExe piece. They would be made out of a high-impact plastic that is much stronger and more durable than the ABS plastic used in the AutoExe pieces (our AutoExe spoiler has a big chunk missing and is cracked in half thanks to road debris , but is temporarily repaired with high performance duct tape )

We are shooting for a price of $350.00 shipped within the continental USA (48 states). To get the ball rolling, we would need at least 35 orders just to re-coup the cost of the mold. They will be made in the USA by a company specializing in automotive composites. If you are interested, please respond to this poll.

so how much is the deposit.?...you should go and post this on the other protege forums...u will definatley get more orders that way...waht is the replica gonna look like....what differ it from the autoexe??...are u gonna mold the grill also??...that s*** looks nice too...

That price come painted to match both original car colors? That front spoiler replaces the entire front-end bumper, right?

Allen, whaddya mean "both" colors? Don't forget the Protege5 has the same front end, so there is a total of 7 colors. I doubt they'll come painted, anyway.

Hmm... dunno why I didn't think about the P5s as well. My bad. I was thinking exclusively about the MP3s. Yeah, in that case I'll also assume they won't come in various painted colors. OoOo... so I have to do my own paint job (uh, I mean "hire" someone to do the job).... nah, I'm for one who wouldn't be that interested in swapping out my bumper and have to do the extra work on it to make it match properly.

Great looking bumper. Hope a lot of other folks will be more inclined to invest in this kit. Good luck.

Hmmm 350 IS a better price than the Autoexe... but its still quite a hefty price to pay for a lip dont u guys think?..... My friend who has a Celica is getting his TRD replica lip installed on friday.. and its only 350CDN painted and installed....

$350 isn't that bad... and it is not an entire new bumper. This is just the lower lip that will fit on the bottom of your current bumper, just under the fog lights.

Hey Everyone,

The spoiler will look like the AutoExe piece, but will be made of a high-impact plastic instead of the ABS plastic. The high-impact plastic will not crack or break apart in chunks like our AutoExe piece did in its encounter with road debris.

Unfortunately, they will not come pre-painted. If they did, the price would be substantially higher.

YellowPR5 is correct, the spoiler is a lower lip that fits over the bottom portion of your bumpe, just under the fog lights.

$350.00 shipped is a very reasonable price, considering the AutoExe piece is 38,000 Yen (currently $288.75) not including the shipping cost from Japan to the US and then the customs and brokerage fees on top of that. Also, the high-impact plastic is a lot stronger and more durable than the ABS plastic used in the AutoExe piece.

Please keep the responses to the poll coming. The more interest we have, the better for everyone!

I've got to agree that this is still quite a bit of money for just a lip. And I know guys as well, that are getting similiar lips for half that painted and installed.

I want one.....BAD....but 350.00 american, plus extra shipping for me in Canada, taxes as well....do the math

Your looking at over 600.00 cdn for a lip. Then I got to get it painted and installed.

It does look wicked though, at least the autoexe one does. I'm constantly getting a little frustrated with companies expecting people to put a deposit down on something that they haven't even seen yet. I mean, 350.00 is one thing, but you haven't shown us what they look like yet. "saying" it's going to look like the autoexe one is not enough for me. But, I can understand why companies don't want to spend the money on manufacturing something that might not sell eithier. Kind of a circle isn't it.

Personally, I'm waiting for a cheaper one. One that I can also take off during the winter months as well. Car is already low enough for our winters as it is.

Thats is a little pricey considering that plastic isnt that expensive its made in the US, and if a Company comes out with a Whole Front Air Dam... thats ussuly $250-300 for a whole new Bumper... and this is just a lip... But I might be wrong since I dont kno alot about Molding etc...

oh and would u have to remove that Black little lip on the front thats there now? Im guessing yes but just making sure

Well, if it's an identical match to the Autoexe lip, then no you don't have to remove the front splitter. At least that's what Rishie at ARD told me. Also, when companies come out with new front bumpers, they're usually made of fiberglass not ABS plastic. ABS plastic is stronger and will hold up a lot better to an impact than fiberglass will.

s*** for that much money I would buy the authentic one rather than a knockoff.

I never said that the splitter could remain on the bumper, you need those mounting points.

NOW WE HAVE this guy, Mitch at P5, and myself doing this. Are you sure you guys want to continue with your project. I mean you're asking for a lot of pre-orders without being able to show us a product.

Hope you have deep pockets as this is a risk you're gonna have to take if you want to really do this as a company should. Best of luck, just remember that three's a crowd.

In a month we'll have the Autoexe pieces offered at $350.00 shipped. We'll just stay JDM most likely. I'm not interested in competing with you guys on a product like this. Manufacturing and quality control can be a b****. I'll put all my time into bringing over authentic stuff from Japan.

I'd love a knockoff made of fibreglass that's cheaper. If it does crack, I can have it repaired easily when the cash comes up. Like Newf said, with the low Canadian dollar, it costs us an arm and a leg to get it shipped here and changed over to Canadian funds.
