Tails: JDM or Stock

I just wanted to see people's opinions on which Tail Lights they prefer.

I understand that you can brag that you have JDM tails, but i see lots of civic hatches with those similar lights. And you can stand out from the rest of the protege crowd here, but they look very simple and see that style of lights on other makes too. I kinda think that our stock lights give our cars more personality. JMO

Anyone care to share thoughts?

JDM LIGHTS.
why? because out stock tail lights look like the mpv taillights.. im trying to get away from the mini van grocery getter look.. also.. when i park my car.. it is different yet subtle.. not like altezzas where 90 percent of the free world will pop a woodie when they see them

The crease in the rear hatch of a P5 matches up perfectly with the back-up lights on the JDM tails. I think that's pretty neat.

I have had someone tell me that it looked like they were following a civic, but the P5 looks wider and more aggressive.

I vote stock. JDM ones aren't ugly or anything, I just don't care for them. Too bland.

JDM tails are also a good way to meet other Protege people. The ones "in the know" will notice and ask about them.

I vote stock, the JDM are nice, however the stock ones look slick...

I try to ignore the mini vans....

we practically have JDM lights cuz when u check the Mazda Japan site their 2003 models have ours.

So, it would sorta be like going down a step.

jdm tails are subtly different from stock. i hated the stock lights.. i hate circles.. there is nothing else circular on the car.. i just think the jdm tails have cleaner lines. .also.. i have a 2002 so i do have the right jdm tails on my car -=)

i think jdm tails would be nicer if the clear part was crystal clear, but like european cars, its slightly smoked. the clear part is more whitish than clear. know what i mean? but i say jdm all the way - chris

Well if your going the Sport20 route, stick with the stock tail lights

As for tails, I wish the JDM tails had that clear look to them like the stock ones...you know how you could see the chrome through the the lens? And I agree with l8r about the smoked out look, I was thinking about spraying some smoke paint on them, but decided not to.
