Tail Lights

Can anyone tell me if the tail light assy. is the same for 1998-2003. I see lots of ad's with variuos info.I want to purchase these lights http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/mazprot98cle.html
but want to make sure beforehand that they fit. Nice lights great price. What do you all think? Thanks!

those are sedan lights
always keep in mind that sedan and hatchback lights are NOT compatible.

When asking a question about fitment, also mention your year too. I think 1998 Proteges have a different tail light design. But regarding your choice in taillights: yes it's a good price, but there are better designs out there. Do a search for a user named "nate..." something. He has a pretty nice setup. Check my pics for the ones i have too, which i dont like.

Maybe I'll start over (new to the forum) I have a 2003 from the sites I have been it looks like they will fit, but noone wants to email back with an answer. I have the same tails as you (stock) and just wanted to dress it up a bit. Only 2000 miles on it. Also, have spoiler and fogs similar to your car but an LX. Thanks again all. I'll keep searching!

check out apc's website at www.4apc.net and it shows that the tail lights are for 98+ proteges. streetbeatcustoms is where i got my tails from seeing as i live in arizona and am only about 10 minutes away from their shop and they do have the some of the lowest prices on lots of different items. peace.

I have all red taillights They are a little diffrent from nate0123 but almost same concept.

If i got new taillights, i wouldn't want those cheap looking lines going through them. You know those ones that cross the taillight. It makes them look cheap.

Nate, i started that thread about wheelmax...
And i bet your tails would look even better if you changed those orange bulbs. You can get silver bulbs that still flash orange, but would make the tails look cleaner

Well they look better than anything else and they were not cheap. I think they were 190 or something like that.

I'm sorry if i offended you with that cheap comment I was just stating my opinion about tailights in general. I almost got a set of carbon fiber ones, but the lines, and the cost kept me from getting them. I got my CAI instead

Nah man you didnt offend me I am just saying they werent cheap. Everyone is entitled to there opinion.

But take my word on this one DO NOT GET THE APC CARBON FIBER TAILIGHTS!!! I had them on my MP3 and they hazed up. I got two sets and they both did the same thing. That experiance almost put me off to get these but these have been good.

They are the stock taillights just with the White/Clear part painted Red... oh yeah sorry for such a big picture I forgot to downsize it.

I've thought about it, but honestly from more than 3 ft away they look pretty good. And from more than 10 ft you can't even see the bulbs.
