anyone have experience with these bulbs? Are they worth 40 bucks a pair? If no experience, what would u recommend for some new brighter than stock bulbs. thanks

I have them. I like them. There is a noticeable difference in light.

www.powerbulbs.com Even though they're in England, I got them at my door in under a week and with normal shipping it cost me about $3 less than getting them down the street. They also threw in some sidemarkers bulbs, too. Even if you have the Sylvanias, it's worth it to ditch 'em for Osrams.

I don't have to read it... you're assuming I don't know that it's the same company
but YOU did not read what I said.. I said they're NOT the same bulbs.... just because its the same company, doesn't mean the same product name marketed under the different brand is the same thing!

i have the sylvania silverstarts and other than light being whitish i haven't really noticed increased output. the one thing i will say is that the first time that i used them I actually thought they are worst than stock. but i have no way of confirming it. light output wise i don't think they are worth the $40. maybe if they last longer than stock ones I (first bulb burned out exactly 4 years and 1 month after i bought the car) they are worth it but i don't if you plan on keeping the car that long.

edit: just read part of the article posted by theman and it seems to confirm my believe that the sylverstar gave less light than the stock yellow bulbs.

you're right.... that's because of that blue tint s*** on the bulbs! that's why sylvania silverstars are s***!

I had an okay experience with mine, but I don't think they were worth the $40. The life of the bulbs were so predictable....probably lasted for 10 months. The left one went out about 10 days after the right one.

what your eyes perceive and what your eyes can truely see are two different things
human eyes are sensitive to blue light, so naturally all untrained eyes will see that they're "brighter" when blue light sucks for actual illumination... they dessipate really easily in water and therefore sucks for poor weather... not to mention because humans are sensitive to the blue light, it causes unwanted glare!
the "ugly" yellow bulbs actually out perform all that blue s*** under ALL conditions

the simple fact is, no one cares if your car looks mad tyte with blue headlights or not, only the ricers who drive by will notice and care... most of the time s*** like this pisses off other motorists because the "performance" light is obnoxious!.... so in otherwords, only you and the rest of the minority will think of the "yellow" light as ugly, while the rest of the world doesn't care... this means it's a waste of money to even "upgrade" to blue bulbs and it's definately impractical to use them!

being able to SEE outweighs being able to be looked at for being "cool"

Well according to you then, I guess I'm a dumbass then. Funny that my 8000K HIDs do illuminate better than stockers, so there goes your theory Einstein. If it annoys other people, good, because at times, they annoy the **** outta me too, so they can eat my blue light. So it seems like I can see better now with these lights than the stockers, so it looks like I win again.
