Suspension STILL squeaky after bushing replacement.

Hi Mazda Friends,

Took our 5 to the shop at around 50,000 miles and had basically the entire suspension replaced. (New shocks, struts , bushings and sway bar links). The guys at my shop were saying that 50,000 miles was too soon for that amount of work but that's another story. So, on the first sub 40 degree day the bushings are squeaking again! My understanding was that the "new and improved" bushings don't squeak. Is it possible that they installed an older style bushings? Has anyone else had the same problem with replacement bushings?

Thanks,

Greg

My suspension stopped squeaking after dealership replaced the bushing. The procedure for replacing the bushing includes smearing some grease between the rubber and the stabilizer bar. It should not squeak that easy at least in theory. even for lower temperature.

Thanks folks. These were new bushings but maybe they didn't grease 'em enough! I thought I read somewhere that Mazda issued a new and improved set of bushings and that my repair people might have installed the older version?

The newer ones have a slightly raised cross-hatch design on the inside to keep it from sticking as easily. It still has to be greased, as others stated.

I just installed new factory sway bar bushings front and back, and it did away with clunking /squeaking noises from the front and possibly rear. The old ones at 21k miles looked fine, but like said, the crosshatch in the new ones look like they would help retain any grease. Plus the front ones have the split in side, instead of the bottom. Im guessing that helped with the clunking noises. I thought I heard that they are on the third generation of bushing design.
