I don't have this noise yet, my car only has 1600 km's on it. But I am wondering if anyone is getting this noise with a STOCK setup. I don't know everyones car who has this problem, but it seems like some of you have either lowered their car, or changed out the wheel/tire combo for something more aggressive.
Do you think these mods could be the culprit? Added forces to an otherwise weak link?
My car is brand spanking new and whenever I just start the car and take off from a parked position I notice a small rattle or "chatter" from the front somewhere.... very strange for a new car... and this was from day 1 so I know nothing was worn out.
My rear suspension only seems to squeak when it's cold though.
Mine makes that noise on startup, almost like a solenoid engaging something. And I will be taking mine in since mine is squeaking, thanks! You might be hearing the Traction/Stability control "calibrating" itself. There was a thread about that noise early on, and I think that was the general consensus.
There is a TSB out for this. I had a ton of squeaking last winter. Turns out a bunch of 2's shipped with really noisy rear suspension... bushings?... i forget what it was exactly. But I went to the dealer about it and they were aware... went in a lubed something up... no more noise.
Yep. It made the noise before I put them on. If they give me an attitude I just won't go back to them for anything. You gonna take it in with the lowering springs installed? lol
I might take mine in this winter if the squeaking starts up when it cools off.
update. no more noise!![]()
they replaced the rack and pinion. it's an "improved part" or "permanent fix part"
