Surface Scratches

I washed and cleaned/polished my car today since we had our first taste of 50 degree weather here in IL after the dreaded winterstorm. I noticed a few scratches on the hood and fenders. It is not deep so I didn't really freak out. I have a tube of scratch removers and tried it. It somehow lightens up the scratch but didn't really eliminate them.

Guys and gals, what would you recommend? I want something that really works and erases the scratch and not just cover it up. Thank you for your inpit.

I don't think you could erase the marks, you could only cover it up. That's how far you can go.
