Hey guys, I have a neighbor with a '99 Millenia S. The supercharger needs to be replaced or rebuilt. The car's his daily, so to keep the supercharger from exploding on him, he wants to bypass it. Does anybody know what belt will work to bypass the supercharger for now? I appreciate any help that I can get.

The miller cycle engine requires a supercharger and will not run without one

Hmmm. Some mechanic he went to said that it would run without it. I'll have to google that and see.
Thanks for the heads up.

Just read up on it, and you were right. The supercharger is necessary. I never knew that. Of course, I've never owned a Millenia either.

lol its ok, many people dont know crap about the miller cycle. Some mechanics see a millenia and run bc they think its the S lol.

very true my mechanic told me to leave after i wanted to have him replace bank 2 valve cover gasket, tune it up, and do electrical work on my 98 S

actually, the 2.3 WILL run without the compressor. it will run very smooth, but be way down on power. also, it will run rich, and in a very short time, you will destroy the precats. my wife lost the p/s pump pulley, so i cut the belt and drove it home. it was interesting, no power steering, and since the water pump also runs off the same belt, i had to pull over several times to let it cool down. a mercedes 240D is faster. oh, and changing the p/s pump on a 2.3 is a suck job

(boom06) keninn? same ken from mw.org?

mechanic's are just as scared to work on the n/a 2.5. and when they do. its not uncommon for them to still do something wrong. its pathetic cause these engines arent that confusing or hard to work on.
