Successful rim sizes.

Looking at aftermarket wheels, what have people gone with lowering and been successful with rim size, width and offsets.

How far have you lowered your car and what wheel sizes have you been successful fitting in the guards?

I'm looking at dropping mine by 30mm which seems to be the standard for all the springs I can find.
I'd like to fill the guards without rubbing.

Lowered on FK springs ~30mm with 17x7 ET35 205/40/17 no rubbing issues at all :D

BUT the rear could do with spacers to look better!

Somewhere around here is a lowered/spring thread with photos and specs of suspension and wheel/tire setups...you need to find that.

Me: Racing beat springs (~0.75 inch drop), 15x7 +38, 195/50. Nowhere close to rubbing. Front sits near flush with edge of fender, inset about 5 or 10mm in the rear.

If you want to be flush front and rear, you'll have to either get a lower offset for the rear wheels (limits wheel choices by quite a bit) or use a spacer.

Yeah, a lot of the wheels I am looking at are made to order, so they come with custom offsets from +0 to whatever the rims maximum is. I like the idea of 16x7 front with 16x8 rear.

Unless you enjoy understeer, or don't do much driving at or near the limit of traction, I'd recommend a lower offset in the rear rather than a wider wheel. Should also save a couple pounds of unsprung weight as well.

I would like to fill the rear as much as possible. I'm not a fan of rolling the guard, but I will if I have to.

People do roll fenders, but I would never consider it myself. There is enough info around here to dial your set up and pretty much know exactly how it's going to fit before you buy. Do it that way if you can!

I've lowered my car about 5" or so, and I rub only when I turn the front wheels. Maybe 2 turns then it rubs the fender.. that is with 15x7 +36 w/ 205/50/15.

But keep in mind, I'm lowered about 5" or so..

CRG how much wheel do you think you could fit if it was lowered only 2" from stock. 16, 17?

If you wanna be tucked/fitted/stanced.. whatever anyone wants to call it, or close to it, you can do 17's.. maybe a x8 in the 30ish offset range with a 195/45.. 40's would be rubber bands.

With saying that, that's more of a "pushing it" fitment, so fender rolling and such would be needed.

16's you can do no problem, I'd think. Maybe don't run a massive tire like I did.. I ran a 16x7 +37 with a 225/50/16 Star Spec tire... boyyy did she rub on stock suspension.

Alright. I was thinking 17s because I want to get the wheel gap fixed. But I didn't want to sacrifice wheel weight and lack of rubber. Sounds like 16s then.
