Suby killer...

EVO parts are just as plentiful as Subaru parts. The EVO has had a market for years now and in other countries, the EVO has a larger following than the DSM's have here. Just thought I'd enlighten you on that.

I know, believe me I've done my homework. I just don't see how any of the things you mentioned make it a 'much better performer' as upsman suggested. All the specs seem to indicate these two cars will be extremely closely matched.

Actually they are not all to even once modded..

Based on EVO mag and the British site I think they're called Warrender....the evo edged the STi in all facets except for interior looks....which I must say is ok for me....It's a rally car what do you expect... a Merc or Beamer interior. The car is all about performance and given it's rally heritage....it does not share all that much with the local DSM vehicles (except the 4G63 eingine) but even that engine is a little different on the EVO, those who have worked with this car know. Better yet I think SCC did a rating on this car against the WRX....(I know it is not the STi but it was modded) And the EVO tore it up in everything but driver comfort:rolleyes:
Don't get me wrong on this I like Subeys, but am a fan of the Evo for quite some time now....and am  it didn't make it with ACD/AYC but who cares....real drivers don't need electronics...we drive MP3s :D, we would know. (well not all of us)

FYI, the EVO is NOT a DSM vehicle. DSM was a joint venture btw Mitsu and Chrysler to build SOME cars, such as the talon, laser and eclipse. Mitsus (such as the EVO) are NOT DSM cars.

Don't get it twisted, bro, I'm not comparing the 2. I'm just the using DSM as a reference from a following stand point. But it's been known for quite some time that the EVO has been branded for it's power deliverance and stiffer ride where on the other hand that Suby has been known for it's refinement, ride quality, and linearity of power distribustion.;)

no worries. some people seems to automatically assume that "mitsu = DSM".

i agree w/ your assessment of the two...it seems like the EVO has always been considered the more hardcore of the two. on the other hand, the 2.5L STi looks like a whole new ballgame.

we'll see...i'm not getting either one anytime soon, but as a car guy, i just think it's friggin COOL that they will both be rolling around here. and if either one showed up in my driveway, i wouldn't complain.

i don't get ppl who are like "the STi/EVO/etc is garbage..." huh?:wtf:

Those are the people who drive Rustangs, Fireturds and Mullet Camaros...who come up with those kind of ignorant remarks... "who live their life a quarter mile at a time" but are in denial of the fact...."I got me a 5liter buddy!"(loser) Technology is just a waste of time for em. Even though gas prices are going up, they go ahead and build bigger engines. What was that quote....I saw for the Mercury Marauder 'Step on the gas and forget what year it is'<<Ignorance is bliss isn't it. Take those behemoths on a twisty track or a windy road then suddenly they turn pale....yeh u got to drive now....not just mash the peddle and go.

Heads up guys. I went to the San Jose International Auto Show Yesterday and they had the Lancer Evo there :D It's SWEET! I took lots of pics and a walk around video so I'll be posting them soon (when I get my lazy butt in gear and capture the video and encode it for the web). Unfortunately they didnt have the MazdaSpeed at the show :(( The one thing I really, really, wanted to see. They didn't have the WRX STI either, it makes it's debut next week in Salt Lake. But I took lots of pictures and they will all be posted soon.

true enough, but i'm also referring ot the people who say, "the EVO rocks! the STi is a piece of garbage!" or vice versa. who really believes that?

Well I don't know about that...."the EVO rocks! the STi is a piece of garbage!" They're both great competitors and make great cars, in the end...it is the driver who makes the car the better ride when it comes to these cars I think...Now domestics on the other hand well that is another story. They got some catching up to do. :D
