1St time sub went out, it was a bad fuse that needed replacing. About 2 weeks later it goes out again but fuse is fine. What should I do before thinking about replacing the sub itself?

Verify the amp is on and functioning. Usually even with a blown voice coil the sub will move a little bit if its powered on.

There should be a light somewhere on it. The stock subs are notorious for failure but there is another fuse on the amp that may have blown.

So the amp was not on(amber light off). I checked the fuse to the amp and it was blown. Replaced it and all is good again! Amber light on and bass thumpin'!(nana)

If the ground and power cables have a stable connection it may blow fuses because of the settings on the amp. Turn down the gain and make sure the crossover is set to the low frequency. If the amp is completely fried (shorted) it will blow the fuse as soon as you apply power to it, if it happens over time it is likely the amp being over loaded. Still have the stock sub?

Okay I'll take a look at that. Now that you mention it, I believe while my dad used to drive the msp, he might've at once point increased the gain on the amp itself. I will check this out later on today.

And yes I currently do still have the stock sub.
