subwoofer break-in period?

Geez.....you should really consider building up some nice boxes for a living or something. You could try to start on this forum, and hey, maybe build one up for me!! j/k...I'm sure you've been hounded to make boxes by others around here and it's prolly gotten annoying at times.

Bbut yea, props on the box...way to save the money for new lowering springs on the car (someone else mentioned that in the thread above). The 250 pounds should take care of that pretty nicely.

I really don't know the exacts, and was antsy to crank my 12a up when new as well, I actually lasted 5days of needless driving and bumping away with my voice coils wired for 4ohm to only get 350w from my amp. I figured doing this actually saved me from myself. I had to physically pull my sub and swap the voice coil wiring to get it up to the full 1100w it begs for.

Anyway, I'd say better safe than sorry, hang in as long as you can. But more than anything else, enjoy that beast, mine's been blowing my mind (and eardrums) from day one low power or not... What kind of box did you make for it?

is this something new that everyone is coming out and saying?, manufacturers used to break in each sub before they were even boxed up. ive never broke in a sub, it's always been hook it up and go.
