subaru offering 6k off msrp + 0% financing for up to 63 mos

lol, this is what a local (S.Jersey) dealer wrote back to me:

"Hi Glen,
Yes, there is what is called stairstep money. If a dealer sells 5 Stis then he get and extra $5,000 incentive. I have 1 STi on stock. Selling 1 Sti get the dealer nothing extra. Sorry, I can't help you then the $8,000 off, but please remember us for service."

i bet my broker called the same dealer because he told me the same thing...

was it the dealer in cherry hill? just curious....

Jared, I contacted both Cherry Hill and Martin Subaru (Turnersville)- Martin was the only one that contacted me back.

Who is correct here- what the forum is saying or what our local dealers are telling us. If I can get an STi for under or at 30k flat I'll trade the MS3 in tomorrow even with 4k negative equity.

Dammit! This thread is killing me. The cost of a new STI drove me to the MS3 and now this is tempting me. Not much in stock at local dealers though.

didn't someone here have links to a maryland dealer offering this? fitz something....i went to their site and didn't see anything but i know someone had a link........

dang.

you wouldnt get the same price as the STI, because the WRX would be lower as well, and iv been trynig to resize it, on my computer screen its small... idk wtfs going on with it

the new STIs suckkk...

09 WRX however...

DISAGREE...

sure the 09 wrx is quite the beast until u go stage 2 and the tranny craps out, which is will...it will....it will....it will...

so you then spend 3k for a new tranny or 5-8k for a ppg or around 5-6k for a sti tranny.

Find a dealership with a decent stock of STIs and you can get it for under 30K

I don't know. I have a sneaking suspicion that the incentives they get are better than that. After all it's rare when a dealer will actually show you the TRUE invoice on a vehicle. In other words I don't trust dealers as far as I can throw them.

Why else would other dealers in the US be offering such a good deal if it wasn't SOA offering the incentive.

Regarding a dealer in Maryland- I read this thread pretty closely because, honestly, I'm excited at the prospect of getting BACK into an STi at a reasonable price. However I don't recall any Maryland dealers mentioned. I only saw Cali, and one Arizona dealer. If there is- let me know I'll drive down with you to take a look and test drive. May even employ your broker if need be.
