Just finished with the install, very happy with the sound as it stands now... next to impossible to run around with a high volume (totally impossible with wife in the car...).
The system: (I retained the stock head unit for steering wheel intergration)

Fronts: Alpine SPR-60c
Rears: Alpine SPR-60
Sub: RF P3-D4-12" - 4ohm
Amp: Alpine PDX-V9 .w Remote Bass level knob (birth sheet 1 x 564WRMS + 4x138WRMS)
Cap: RFC-1 (1 farad)

Tied it into the stock head unit using the regular high-level (speaker) outputs and RF speaker-line to RCA converters.
Custom box with the blue LEDs tied into the hatch-open sensor, so they only come on when the hatch is open.

The basic idea was to keep it all usable, so if I need to carry cargo, I slap on one of those rubber-trunk protectors and have no problem carrying any cargo.. :)

yeah, I got rid of the spare, at the end of the day I wanted to not impact on the storage space, yet not compromise on bass / box design (and a bit of bling with the amp/LED area). As it is I made it as small as possible, the sub has two vents which exit into the recesses in the boot just to the sides of the wheel wells... :)

Risky sacrifice to save 1-2 cubic feet of removable storage space. but to each their own, it looks good and clean.
Is there even enough room in that area to get the proper box volume?
