Before this mount when WOT in 1st and 2nd and sometimes 3rd even I would just be spinning my tires like mad. Now I pretty much just hook and go and the shifting is way better (use to have an issue with 3rd) not anymore. Call me crazy but the clutch feels better as well. This has got to be the best mod for this car.

p.s. It was a b**** to install....However, now that I know all the tricks I could do this install in about 15min. The "how to" on how to install the dog bone mount doesn't fully apply to this mount. You actually have to take the bolts off the tranny bracket that attaches to the mount to get it to go in. You also will need a lube that is okay for the brushings on the top and bottom of the su motor mount (something for rubber and stuff like that) If you don't you'll probably just end up f'n up your hands and getting frustrated, etc. Also, you well need to lube the bolts. Apparently the factory but them in tight as shyt! Get a long ratchet with a good mechanical advantage, lol. These "little" details would have been very helpful to me and would have saved me about 5hrs and less or no bloody knuckles.

I am glad since this is next thing that I have in the garage that I need to add to my car. So if there is anymore things that I should look out for let me know since I am going to be tackling this sometime this week during a boring evening and hopefully my new corksport downpipe next weekend.

Man this car is fun!!!!!!

Enjoy!

If you have any questions when you're ready to tackle this just pm me. You will be super glad you installed this when you're done. I guess the main thing is to unbolt the latch that is attached to the tranny (you can just loosen the one in the rear) Also, I forgot the name of the lube I used for the Brushings on the mount but I believe anything that's meant for rubber will do the trick. This is needed to squeeze this very tight fitting mount into place. You'll need a 17mm and 19mm socket and racket (one small one very long).

Of course you'll need to but your car up on jack stands! (I'll take a photo of this point if you need it) I used this stuff called PB to loosen up the bolts on the tranny bracket and stock mount. (worked like a charm) other than this just look up the "how to" on install of dog bone mount, it's pretty similar up until the point of unbolting the tranny bracket thing.

MS3077: thank you for the info. I will give you a PM if I get stuck during the install. It seems pretty straight forward but is it not the case that when things should be simple they are the hardest :)

I will check my tool chest for the 17mm and 19mm socket.

Thanks again.

enjoy!

You're most welcome! More than happy to help :)

I didn't need to use anything to squeeze the mount in. Main thing is to remove the bracket that attaches to that transmission which you already mentioned. If you have breaker bar and a pry bar it is very easy. Breaker bar to get all the bolts off real easy and the pry bar to move the engine up and down to get the bolts started. Trick is to not tighten anything until all the bolts are started. Don't forget the loctite.

Yeah I suppose you could do it that way as well (more than one way to skin a cat) Yeah the loctite is important! I used this stuff called: THREADLOCKER that I got at autozone (instructions on how to use it are on the tube, don't worry)

How about car vibration after this mod?

Very mild, if I am idling I can barely feel the vibration. With AC on it is a little louder but tolerable. As soon as you are moving the vibration is gone. I've had mine on since Nov of last year which is probably ~7000 miles of driving and the mount has broken in and is quieter than when I first put it on which the instructions say will happen.

I plan on removing the mount next weekend when I change my transmission fluid to see how it is holding up.

no problem, anytime u need me im here, oh by the way i just ordered everything today hopefully my car will be up wed. morning so track time lol, those were the good old days with just 17 psi and intake,

Yeah we need to get our hands on a video cam so that we can record our runs!

Jowie, also save your time slips so you can post them on the 1/4 trend. I'm sure you'll have one of the fastest.

Glad you got your parts ordered! Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Hope to see you at the track wed (drive2)

PB Blaster is awesome, and I've heard that Kroil is even better. Both are pretty much like WD-40 on 'roids. Looking forward to my MM install soon.
