if you're getting 5k/s it IS your connection
the routing within your ISP or from your ISP to their servers suck.... distance has NOTHING to do with connection problems.... I download s*** from across the pacific all the time with no problems, so your logic is flawed... in otherwords, your connection HAS an issue
"high speed cable internet" is nonsense these days... it's extremely oversubscribed and true connection is totally shared from your neighborhood hub... guess what when there's a whole bunch of people on at once to use the intARweb? it's slow as s***!
there is NOT an issue when others haven't been complaining about slow speeds like you have, the issue lies within YOUR end
learn how the internet works before getting pissy and calling people names
I download stuff from all over the world too and I have to say it's never that slow, although slower than local downloads. I am aware of occasional slowdowns due to my ISP like you explained but even when that happens it doesn't go that slow. I tried downloading other stuff to see if it was in fact a problem on my side and they were fine at like 150k or more while zSHARE kept giving me s*** speeds and dropping out. I now assume zSHARE server(s) was overloaded or something at the time I tried because it was better this morning.
Sorry about calling you a dumbass, as you obviously aren't. It's just that I've heard that comment too many times (not always to me) and the people saying it were always completely ignorant.
