Stupid dealer sticker

the day that my car arrived at the dealer i told the lady that " I DONT WANT THE STICKER FROM THE DEALER IN THE CAR " the lady just said "OK" hahaha

thats actually quite frequent at any given dealership (that uses the stickers). ESPECIALLY with customers on limited edition/performance vehicles like the MS3.

a dealer can take the sticker off for you - I cant see why theyd give you a hard time about it. Any dealer that would isnt worth their weight.

yah, remember when I specificaly asked that there would be no sticker on my car when i got it, then there was....mark was so apologetic and got it off right away, what a pain in the ass. But yeah, they should respect your wishes on that, its not in ur sales contract that you have to be a billboard, just most people dont give a crap about it and its free advertising for the dealer.

see, its ugly VVVV

lol yeah I remember... and remember how we took it off in the lot in about - oh I dont know, 2 minutes and polished it up too? Wasnt a huge bother. Good thing dealers dont etch the car, or go Deals on Wheels style and rivet it to the car.

if theyre new its no big deal. its when theyre months/years old that you get screwed.

(I still want your wheels...) (peep)

something i found interesting when i bought my last car (first car i bought in MA) is that they made me sign a statement saying i knew there was dealer advertising on my car. i assume it's a state law because the vehicles i bought in CT didn't make me sign anything like that. luckily for me it was just license plate frames and they were removed almost immediately but i was surprised when i had to sign that

haha yeah i know they got rid of that thing in a HURRY.

Amazes me dealers still get away with plastering their crap on the cars... been a long time since Ive seen that done here in Cali...

Heat gun or hair dryer. heat the sticker up

get some PLASTIC razor blades http://www.topoftheline.com/plastic-razor-blades.html

some cleaner wax and or adhesive remover (aka goo gone)

Heat the sticker
start in a corner and gently get the edge up. You should be able to peel up the sticker easily with your fingers. If it doesn't come off in one piece, it's because the adhesive isn't warm enough. Heat again and keep going.

<---- I one time had to remove 30+ decals from a STi, used the above process. took 2 days. not fun. 1 decal should be easy though.

When buying the car we mentioned to the salesman several times that we didnt want the sticker and he promised he wouldnt put it on. And of course when the car is pulled around the badge is sitting there right below "mazdaspeed3". They must have just put it on because we pointed it out and he walked over and just pulled it off with his fingers.

Remember google is your friend. :)

As to get rid of the ones on my ride I just pealed the stickers off without a pre-soak. Then used tar and bug remover(From your local Autozone) from a spray bottle to get the sticky crap off. I used this solution in conjunction with a waxing application cloth to avoid scratching the paint.

Some of these instructions say use a plastic spatula but I would suggest against that .. a finger nail IMHO is softer and better.

Is that the one nice thing cali has.
Last i heard here it illegal for them to pur the advertise sticker on without conset from the buyer. ONly the plate frames they are allowed ot do.

i would bring it back and tell them to take the damn thing off. "i bought a 26000 car from you for my own interest not be your ******* billboard. there will be amonthly charge if thats the case."

EXACTLY! They did this to my wife's brand new 2005 Mazda 6 after they detailed it and prepped it. I saw it and immediatly told them to take it off. It was so retarded, right between the lip of the hatch and the open latch (5-door), looked like s***! It only took them a few seconds, using a heat gun. The earlier you get it off, the better. But be more tactful then the post I quoted suggested. Just tell them you think it is tacky and want a clean look.
