Strut mount question

ALright so after a bunch of searching, I've come up with very very little information and that's where you guys come in.

I have concluded that my FRONT passenger side strut mount is shot to s*** and that I will have to replace it. I'm getting that creaky clunk that others got from the rear strut mount and I wish it was the rear seeing as that seems to be a lot simpler than the front.

In my research, there's a whole bunch of jibber jabber about bushing this and plate that and to be honest, I just want to know what parts I have to get, how they go together and where I can find them.

Thanks guys!

ok there is a plastic bearing that you should pick up from teh dealer.

the strut is easy. there is a how to on here some where

jsut take it apart and then put it back the same way

Ok cool. I printed out the pages from the parts diagrams and I see what you're talking about. I'll go ahead and purchase that and see if it'll solve my problem. If not, then it's time for a whole new mount. Thanks bud.

I have experienced the same squeeking/clunking sound in the front of my car. Although I asked my mechanic to check out my struts, bushings etc. and he said all that is fine. If my mechanic checked all those things would he still miss a faulty strut mounting?

The clunking you hear can be a bunch of different things. Just look at me.

I would say to do the following, lift your car up in the front and check to make sure that you can't move the wheel either up or down or from side to side (by this i mean in and out)

Then take of your wheel and check that the endlink is on there nice and tight and that it isn't shot to s***.

Then, check your sway bar bushings.

Then, check to see if your tie rod end is ok,

If all of these seem fine, you probably have a worn strut mount bushing. The mechanic may have told you that it was fine but even if he actually took it apart and looked at the bushing, it could look fine but be shot.

If it's the strut mount bushing, the part is only 5 dollars from mazda and you can even swap it yourself.
