Hell, I think I got about 3-4 good races this weekend, there weren't any other cars around, and it was really safe. Sorry, I'm not going to drive to a track that is 2 hours away that's $15 to run at, to get 3 runs in against 6 second drag cars, then drive all the way home.
The problem with destroying cars is yes, the running. By making the laws more strict, and kids hauling ass to get away just endangers MORE lives.

If you are going to race, take it to the track where it is safe! There is no such thing as safe street racing! PERIOD!
You need to add those who use cell phone while driving causing accidents into that category. I saw as much accident caused by cell phones as drunk driving.Replica said:Oh another thing to think about, the penalties for drunk driving aren't even this severe. So my suggestion to everyone, if you go street racing, get drunk and just claim you were drunk driving and not street racing.

where have YOU been?khrys323 said:when has someone street racing killed a person recently?
a guy in fairfax, va died in a msp street racing..khrys323 said:what do you mean, where have i been?
Exactly why I hated that movie.Notorious said:what is really needed is a law that makes sense. The penalty for drunk driving is less severe than if you are caught street racing. I'm sure I don't need to remind people that drunk driving is one of the most deadly and dangerous situation you will find on the streets. While street racing needs to be cracked down upon a better option would be to better educate the young drivers who just got their license. Street racing is not all glamourous like portrayed in F and F, and this is what kids think. Virtually everywhere I go and someone asks me a question about my car they bring up the fast and the furious. Which as tuners and car enthusiasts know is not an accurate representation of what it is we do. That just kind of shows you where the mentality of most kids are.
