Strange feeling at 3000 rpm

Today i went to Michigan State University and the temperature was about 30 degrees.

I was entering the ramp for the freeway and I was in third gear. I gave all gas increasingly up to 4000 rpm. I felt the hesitation and I left off the gas a bit. At that point the car like stopped running for a second (the engine shaked) and made the turkey noise that I could hear out of my OEM airbox. The same thing happened tonight at the same ramp in third gear while accelerating.

I have no idea. First time ever. And it was only 30 degrees.

Do you guys think it was fuel cut??

My car hesitate really badly especially in 3rd gear but it never made something like that. It was like the engine shut off and restarted.

I guees I should just try to get it flash since I will not be modding the car anytime soon due that I do not completely trust the MSP engine wise.
I never really runs the same depending on the day. WHat a funny car (boom07)

What do you guys think?

Thanks

something similar the other day with my mostly stock P5.

I dunno (uhm) (dunno)

I think it's fuel cut

I'm @ 7.5 psi and get fuel cut in most gears when its 40 degrees or colder outside

I am basically stock.
It was wierd and happened only twice.
It did not happen with 20 degrees weather.
Oh well.
I might try the Flash.
Will it help with fuel cut?

My car was doing this really bad yesterday too. It doesnt do it all the time, sometimes it will be running like a champ, and at the next light it will hesitate again. I am running between 7-9psi depending on the gear and my foot . I cant turn the boost down either unless I take off the SMIC/Hardpipes. I pretty much just deal with it and hope that nothing blows up lol

Are you flashed?
You got 3 psi from SMIC and Hardpipes?
That's a lot.

As far as I know I'm flashed, I asked the dealership a couple times and they have always said that it was done before I bought it.

I run around 7 stock boost so it gained about 1-2psi from the SMIC/Hardpipes. I have had my boost controller completely off the car for about a month and a half now.

fuel cut issue

(poke) I've been having the problem of fuel cut for some time. i have had the fuel try to cut on me at 0psi, its the computer not recognizing the conditions. I went and spoke to a mazdaspeed tech, he told me that there are two options to go with. First A reflash with updated software to fit your application which typically runs for $600-$800. However you need to send in your PCM, which could take anywhere from 2 weeks on. Second is by standalone fuel computer. This is very presice tuning but could potentially lead to the greatest results. I just purchased a Apex-i SAFC 2 and will install it today I'm trying to see if i can control the fuel enough to keep it drivable till I can get a reflash.

What do you mean that you need to spend 800 for flash ECU when it is their fault?

You might as well get a unichip.

That is what I tought too SAFC will not work.

Thanks for the response

The mazdaspeed tech told me that there is updated software available for off-road use applications. It requires reprogramming the PCM. You would have to call them and specify your conditions, or drive your car to SOCAL and pay them to tune it.

Hmm interesting. I give you props if you can get the SAFC to work, that'd be another option for msp owners. But chances are it won't work, its been tried...
