Strange boosting

ok so i just bought my car from jrdellecker21 i drove it b4 i bought it boosted fine held at 11psi where he had it set to... my dad drove it from allentown to scranton (1hr drive) boosted fine held 11psi my dad said... i get in it to go drive it 3rd gear step on it and it hits 11 and keeps going all the way to 18psi and hits fuel cut i get all weirded out... step on it again i let it get to 15psi and i let off because it would have kept going... we originally(me and jrdellecker21) thought it was a vacume leak but all my lines seem to be fine and the wastegate couldnt of failed because its a forged with a 5lbs spring so it would only boost 5psi... so im really lost i've had boosted cars before but never had a problem like this could someone please help!?

check the rod itself on the actuator to see if it came loose or is out of adjustment somehow

i looked at it and according to jrdellecker21 its fine where it is... the nut is about 1.5in. down the threads... im gonna investigate the actual wastegate more 2morrow... thankyou for your help too i appreaciate (spelled soo wrong lol) it alot

ok i checked the wastegate and everything is all ok... i believe i have found the probelm... i believe its my boost cylanoid that has failed... lemme know if anyone knows where i could get my hand on one??

we dont have a boost solenoid

how can a boosted car with an ecu not have a boost solenoid?? and if its not the solenoid can anyone else help with an idea of wht it is?

Isn't the boost solenoid attached to the mounting tab on the cold pipe near the throttle body?

since your WGA has the 5 lbs spring, and you are running 11 psi, then im sure you have a MBC.. your MBC may be leaking. Might want to check that.

ahh thnx i didnt even think of that lol... ill check that out as soon as i sound like a noob, where is my MBC located at on my car?? i know if i cant find my problem by next tuesday its gonna be going to the Mazda Dealership who work on my freinds speed protege when he had it... so if someone could tell me where the MBC is located itd be sweet... thnx everyone

its different for every car....were did you put it or were did the previous owner put it. we have no idea were its located.

It will be located somewhere on the vacuum line coming off the WGA.... The Manual Boost Controller is an aftermarket part, so if you didn't put it on then the previous owner did. Look at the WGA and follow the rubber line coming off of it until you find the MBC, if there is one.

the car is still how it is in this pic... thnx for posting that pic... and wow im dumb MBC is a manual boost controller... but ya no i dont let the car boost that high... in fact since the first time it did that i havent even gone into boost again... no BOV just how it looks in that pic... and what do you mean "connect it the right way"?... thanks to all who are helping... and also the wastegate was set to 11psi no MBC

The DV should connect from your "hot pipe" to the intake, so it can recirculate the air.

u dont need to post a pic! that is the injen cai! it hase a aluminum tube that runs down below the intake! dont talk trash about poeples cars unless u know the parts that are in them!
