Ok I have to store my speed3 for 12 weeks this summer. Im wondering what i should do.

I figure i would need fuel stabilizer but other then that i didnt think any other products?

What about the tires, do i need to jack the car?

If so do i need to keep the suspension loaded?

Thanks

For only three months I wouldn't think too many precautions would be necessary. I would change the oil, put the car on jackstands or simply over inflate the tires to prevent flat spots, and disconnect the battery or leave it on a slow trickle charger.

I have had good luck with this:
https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned)
I have one for my motorcycle, one for my roadster, and one for my emergency generator.

I also suggest putting mouse bait around.

And mothballs to keep the damn squirrels away! Hopefully you won't have to resort to wolf/coyote urine. Where u keepin it stored anywho?

And why are you storing it for the summer?
umm good question. You can store it at my place for free. I'll make sure it is ran regularly (crazy)
Fuel stabilizer is cheap and a good idea along with an oil change right before storage.

I'm in the army and have a course this summer that would add 3500km. Also while there i will be lucky to ues my car more then twice so its really useless to bring, so im taking my old car (mx-6) down instead and leaving the speed behind.

ok so i will be probably taking out the battery and jacking the car. Its staying in a garage and im not really worried about animals.

Noone answered if i have to keep load on the suspension???

Good question, I'll be having mine stored for a year and a half after next summer. Same precautions?

Why would it make a difference if the suspension loaded or not. If you don't have any excess weight in the car and the car is clear of anything foreign objects that have a significant amount of weight there should be no need. Never have I heard that you need to jack up for long storage periods for the suspension. I know people who have stored cars longer than three months and the cars suspension was the same when they left it...

If you are going to put the car on jackstands, I would suggest removing the wheels and taking out the suspension. The easiest way is to keep it on the ground, over inflate the tires, disconnect the batter entirely, and put in fuel stabalizer. Depending on if its still going below 0 Celsius where you are, make sure the tank is at least half full.

12 weeks?

Fill it up with gas.

Disconnect battery if you're feeling saucy.

Cars sit on new car lots longer. Don't worry about it.

Seriously, 3 months is nothing. They (who are they?) say high test starts breaking down in 1 month's time. I've had full tanks of it sit 6 months with no after affects. Maybe I'm just lucky.
