whoever started the rumor that these were the best plugs for us to use, has caused a lot of us unneeded troubles.

Every problem i've had with my car in the past 3 months (bogging, rough idle, etc) was cured by simply not using bkr7es

I had 4 week old bkr7es in my car as of yesterday and was bogging at about 3500 rpm and 4000rpm. My car had rough idle after being at a light for say a minute.

This usually went away when i changed my plugs but came back after a week or two. BKR7E's work with our car when they are in primo condition. After that point they suck donkey dick and cause unneeded grief

I'm sure 505 can ellaborate a bit, but for christs sake this is in the noobie guide on this web page and is HORRIBLE information to be circulating in our community.

I use the NGK extebded reach plugs, and they are the best I have ever had on the car.

I've had BKR7E's in my car for several months now and my car doesn't have any of those problems. Maybe you didn't gap them correctly?

505 recommended me some different ones, but i forget the part numbers...ngk p something or other...i think im going to get them, the extended reach ones...i heard they make a huge difference...

I had the BKR7Es in for about 400 miles back when I first got my car & I took them out because they made the car idle really rough.

I remember reading one of the threads where Wagner or someone said that the gapping also needs to change depending on how much boost you're running. I don't know how much this would affect people with the stock turbo, but anyone with an aftermarket turbo should check that out. Ask Linux...I think he was the one who mentioned it.

my car is idling like s***...i thought it was because of my EGR CEL but it might be because of these damn plugs...how much are you all paying for the extended reach ones?

Disagree with the subject of this thread completely. I've used them for several months without issue. I've had to regap them to 0.030" every couple thousand miles, but that is fully expected with copper plugs depending on how hard you drive your car. Plug performance depends on a variety of factors, especially gapping, boost pressure, and a/f ratio. If you don't boost past stock, just use the stock platinum plugs...they will wear much slower.

The ZFR7-11 works equally well, but has the same issues as the BKR7-E.

Peace...(hippy)

My car has less issues now that i wen t back to the BKr7e's, The extended reach help my off boost and idle, but i missfired a few times using them. Im probally running much leaner then you guys in boost. My car stays between 11.0-12.0:1 in boost. I assume the MSP are richer.
