Stock rubber really does suck...

What's very funny about this is the comparison of 6 or 8 cylinder 2 seater performance to that of a 4 cyl station wagon. Take the Crossflamer envy over to a forum of other 2 seater sports cars talk all the s*** you want with people who own comparable vehicles. Does anyone on this forum give a **** about anything a Crossflamer will do at any speed or price?

Hmmm let's see, they are a real bargain it seems & really scarce on the road so they must suck compared to the other cars in the same market niche that they compete against because you see many more of those on the road. But once again to each their own & btw that mechanical wing is open ass. Let's see one hauling 4 bikes & 4 people or 2 12' kayaks or 3 sets of golf clubs & 3 people or surfboards or 4 people at once or any mix of those if people wanna make unreasonable comparisons between the 2. Anyone getting 30 mpg out of a Crossflamer? Let's talk about how the P5 kicks the Crossflamers ass all over the place at the insurance office.

Mazda P5 driver Quit w/ the name calling & flamming... keep it on topic & civil please...

Any one of us could make a long list of cars that are better at everything than the Crossfire. Every review I have read stated that the ride was too rough to be a good cruiser, but it's numb steering and suspension design keep it from being a track champ. So it's ok at everything, but doesn't do any one thing well. There's a large number of similar cars that are great daily drivers, but will eat a Crossfire alive on a track. Hell, my old '95 BMW 540/6 is almost a second faster to 60, and has better grip as well. That's an 11 year old car, and a 4 door to boot.

Also, while it does have lots of MB content, it's from the previous generation SLK. Suprise suprise, much of the critism the Crossfire has taken is similar to what the SLK took when it was new. Fortunately the new SLK is a big improvement, and will wipe the floor with the Crossfire. So to review, MB hand-me-downs makes for a decent American car, but not a great sports car. Make friends with somebody that has a Porsche, then you'll know what a sports car is really like. Your comments read to me like a kid who's ridden in one cool car and automatically thinks it's the cat's ass, when in reality it's nothing special.
