perf you goin to run speacial? :)

the rods were a little over 720$
the pistons 600$
make sure you know your specs before ordering. they are not on the shelf items. These babys are good for 30psi of tuned boost

forged aluminum rods are great if you are racing . When every once of power counts . Also the majority of those rods are thrown away after the race.
the aluminum rods are not good for an every day driver.

Im sure a lot of people know about the pauter rods and JE pistons....

Now, can we talk about the rings? I have heard pople talking something about silicone, super seal rings or complete seal rings and stuff. Can somebody tell me a bit of this?

perfworks - what are they not good for an every day driver??? also, why would they be thrown away - about to die or something???

forged aluminum rods , especially in a forced induction application, tend to stretch and "bend". The majority if not ALL racing teams "mic" the rods and pistons after the taer down and throw them away. The same goes for rod, and head studs or bolts.
They are only used for wieght reduction. Dont get me wrong, they are a great product but for racing applications were it cunts they need to pursuit every option to be faster.

fair enough. yeah i wondered why they werent being used heaps in aftermarket applications. so i guess when we talk about titanium rods (weight and strength right in between aluminium and chrome moly) that's more appropriate? also i titanium isnt as bendable as aluminium

its not. titanium is great but there arent too many manufacturers that will make them at a resonable price for the aftermarket.
