So I purchased my car probably five months ago or so. It's a 2006 Mazda 6 GT Touring with pretty much every option. It has the factory navigation. From day one there has been an intermittent problem with the navigation. Sometimes it won't happen for days or weeks at a time, and some times it will happen ten times a day.
I'll get in the car, turn it on, the screen will flip up, the map will display, except the location it is showing me car is not where my car really is. Sometimes it will only be a mile or two wrong. Sometimes it will be fifty or sixty miles wrong. It's a real hassle to have to go in and manually calibrate my location every single time this happens.
My car is due for its 3,000 mile service soon, I asked them if while they had it in there to do the service if they could check out the navigation issues. I asked that if they did, if I could have a loaner until they fix it. They said that unless they can re-create the issue at the dealership that they can't do anything about it. When I explained that it didn't always happen, they said there wasn't much they could do unless it happened WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP.
Then I said, what if the next time it happens, I bring it in to show you that it is in fact not showing the car in the correct location on the map. They told me that they couldn't do anything, because I could have gone into the configuration section and moved the location of the car myself.
So now I have a five month old car, with only 2,200 miles on it, with a legit warranty problem, and they won't even take a look at it. Is this how I'm going to be treated every time there is a problem?
What should I do, I don't feel it's fair that I should just have to deal with it, its under warranty, so its their problem to fix.
I'm going to call Mazda Customer Relations if I can find a number, this is horse s***.
