sterring wheel niose

i have a 06 mazda 6 and the sterring wheel makes a poping noise sometimes when you turn the sterring wheel,anyone else have this problem does anyone know what it is. the sound is comming from around the sterring wheel or colum.

it may be an intermediate shaft making noise from a lack of lubrication when the joint is trying to move, have someone move the steering wheel and listen to it i would bet that is it, i have regreased and replaced a couple of these at work
