Trust me, I know how you feel. Someone ganked my Kenwood headunit back in March. Those fuckers need to get a ******* life!

Hey everybody, thanks for the support.. Everything everybody has said totally explains my feelings about lousy ******* thiefs..

I do compete often, I competed Sunday at a competition and Sunday night Monday morning I got ripped the **** off..

I'm doing an investigation on the Police dept though.. Police called me at 2:44 in the morning on my cell phone.. Saying "hi, this is ____ with the Des Mo..... police dept, we are at the top of the hill with your car that just got broken into, give us a call at _______ to make a report"

How do you know my car just got broke into?
Why did you arrive at the scene?
Who called you?
Were you dispatched?
How the **** did you get my cell phone #???
- Not from my apartment
- Not from the DOT
- Not from anyone on the force
- The phone is not in my name, it's a business phone which has no affiliation with my name..

Kansas City college somewhere had constant car audio thefts, so they started surveilance and found that it was the police.. Hmmmm weird s*** huh..

my advise is, don't put so many money inside the car.
People will steal it easily, so if you are poor, don't do it.
If you have so much money, why not.

This is good advice, but not likely to be followed by the masses. Once again your "latice touch" is an asset to this site.:)

Damn, I'm sorry man! I really feel you~ :(

My brother got his civic stolen just a month ago, they took his set of bronze racinghart (real one, not rota) wheel, his whole stereo, and chop off his passenger side door (it's a 2door), and his car was stolen right off his own drive way. This was not only a big impact towards my brother, but also to the family because we have to pay the initial 800 bucks to the insurance. Also, we have put some money into the car, chopping off passenger side door was just wrong. :(
I personally find it's hard to believe that some people would do such a low life s***, the people that are out stealing people's car need to seriously get a life, go find a job go to school or something, only these kind of f@gs make our society worst.

Again, I'm sorry about the car being stolen, hopefully everything will turn out ok with the insurance. My brother was luck that he was able to get all his money back from the insurance company with all the aftermarket parts, but just the access 800 bucks that we have spent.

Also, this kind of robbery is hard to avoid. As many of people have said, if a thieve/thieves really wants/want your stuff, THEY WILL GET IT NO MATTER WHAT.

You can be as determined to keep it so long as your a little determined.
Neighborhood watches are the best start. Get one going. Next, get a firearm and a carry permit. If you compete keep it on you. This lets a theif no he is not risking jail but a bullit in the ass if you catch him.
Make the install hard to get out:
Easily enough just get in behind the dash and wire tie some of the radios hard fasted wires down and the best is to use a back strap. Its a b**** to install but it will keep the radio safe.
For amps subs and the like, keep them BOLTED, not screwed to the floor. Screws will give way a bolt with a good sized washer will not. Bolt through the inside of sub boxes. This way you'd have to remove the sub to possibly get the box out.
If you can get the amps under the seats and bolt them down too. Its a hell of alot harder to get an amp out from under a seat then it is to use a crow bar and take it off the rear seat.
Speaker wise, make no changes to the doors that are obvious. It draw attention if there is an aftermarket tweeter mounted up high.
Lastly don't drive a Honda or Toyota. If you do you'r just asking for a theif to take the car. They want these cars for parts and don't give a damn about the audio mostly.

Alarm wise, extra sirens are fine but they need to be back up battery sirens or when they cut the main power they will just go dead. A seperate battery to run just the alarm is a good idea too.

Yep, stereo comps and car shows are the prime place for these low lifes to shop. I hadn't had any problems with any of my cars/trucks until I had one in it's first car show. A few weeks later, they tried to steal the whole car (thank god for alarms and starter kills). Six weeks later, to the day and almost time (like 3:00am) it got hit again. Sold that car and haven't been in another show since. Haven't had a problem with any other cars/trucks since.

Car comps locally are DONE.. I will NEVER compete again..

Also, I have battery back up sirens.. Just not inside of the car.. I plan on getting a siren battery back up down the road, just didn't have the money at the time.. My next system will be 100% secured to the car, so they must do A LOT of s*** to get this done, and in the mean time go DEAF.. ******* pricks..

How hard is it for real to get a gun permit and s***, IOWA??

I believe my piezo sirens saved my front speakers & head unit. But hell those do me no good without amps & crossovers.. Stupid assholes..

I would love to put a cap in someones ass who was trying to steal my s***.. Everybody (cops, insurance companies) say theft of car audio & cars is on a rise here.. So hell I think I'm moving..

Later

In Iowa it may not be to diffucult hit the NRA's website they ususlay have link to the state laws involving gun ownership.
